...if Batman, the series of the 60s, is available in a DVD or Blu-Ray boxset?
I did some searches on google and amazon but couldnt find any mention of any past or future releases. And thats a real shame, because this much-beloved series DESERVES a boxset release, if not better.
Separate seasons are available, I believe. The whole 120 episodes, together with the movie, would be a killer pack.
I did, however, find some independent sites claiming they had the entire series in a boxset (7 dvd set). But I dont know if I can trust them enough.
Here is one :-

and another here :- http://www.stellarproducts.biz/baco60tvse12.html
here :- http://www.tvaddicts.tv/movie/action/Batman_1960's.html
Can I trust those, or wait for a possible kickass future release from somewhere?

Rights issues are preventing this one from getting a legal release - Fox still owns the rights to the show itself, but Warner now owns the Batman property. Therefore...we're stuck in limbo.
There are tons of less-than-legit sites online selling boxsets...I've been rather temped to grab one myself, but I can't seem to work up the nerve.
I can't imagine this show EVER getting a legit release though, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to break down and grab a bootleg relatively soon. If you happen to find out if any of those sites are trustworthy or let, make sure you let us know - I'll do some research of my own, too.

I am holding back from ordering from one of those sites until someone convinces me to do it.
Or, I could go e-bay. But I doubt the quality of discs from a seller at that place, too.
It would be great if someone like Amazon made this series one of their "Amazon Exclusive" packs. Whatever the quality be, I d buy it from Amazon in a jiffy.

Perhaps you should look into getting these things too.

Seems not a lot of people know too much about them.

If you're looking for detailed info on why they can't release the show, this has a good breakdown of all the rights issues involved:

...yeah, they'll never get all of that shit resolved. I'm gonna find a site that looks vaguely reputable and get one of the bootlegs, 'cause we'll never see this legally.

That pretty much seals it. And looks messy, too.
But I think Fox won that legal case over Warner, so maybe we just might see a boxset from Fox in the near future, since they have been so desperate to mint money from just about any source they can, in recent times.
Think we should wait for at least a couple months, if not more.

I wish I had the chance to get back to New York City sometime soon...theres an epic comic store there, not far from Times Square - I belive it's called Metropolis -, that sells a bunch of bootleg stuff like this - I didn't think to look for this series the first time I was there, and last time I was too busy to stop in. I'm sure they'd have it there...
I got a pretty decent copy of the Roger Corman-produced Fantastic Four movie from them:D

That sounds like a sheer bad and cheesy entertainer. Tell me how it was once you are done watching it.

Oh man...its wonderful.
It's horrendous, but SO much fun to watch. The effects are laughable, the actors all look stunned...I love it.
If you ever run across a copy, you should really pick it up. One of the best so-bad-its-good films I've ever seen.
(Sad part is, they STILL managed to do a better job with Dr. Doom than the new ones...)

I got a VHS version off ebay once and ended up taping over it, it was so bad. The worst thing was The Thing- who looked exactly like, well, a guy in a foam rubber suit....

I looked the trailer up on Youtube and found this clip. The actors for Reed Richards look sort of similar. (This one and the newer one.)
