So, what is everyone's favorite song(s)? Least favorites? What do you prefer to play on? Etc.
I love:
Cherub Rock
Reptilia
Say It Ain't So
I Think I'm Paranoid
Main Offender
Etc.
I HATE:
Vasoline
Welcome Home
Dead On Arrival
Green Grass and High Tides
and a few others drive me crazy.
I prefer to drum, at least i'm best at that. I can beat most of them on hard, but only a few on expert. I'm decent at guitar, and getting a lot better. I can do half on hard on guitar.

I suck at all the other instuments, buts its practically sad what I can do with the guitar. I played guitar hero WAY too much.

Rock Band and Guitar Hero, are for people who'd rather pretend to be playing songs on a game, rather than taking the time to really play it, with real instruments.
Not necessarily the case with me. I took my hand with music when I was younger. From piano to marching band geek to jazz saxophone to a summer filled with guitar lessons - When it comes down to it while I loved playing saxophone, I wasn't all that coordinated with the guitar to a point where I didn't enjoy it. A couple of friends tried to teach me how to play the drums but I'm pretty uncoordinated there, too. :o Rockband is pure utter fantasy escapism. Sure, I'd love to really learn how to play the drums, but, honestly, I live in a teeny tiny apartment - There is no place where I could conceivably keep a drumset and I would probably drive my downstairs neighbors to murder.
So, I create my hot little avatar chick and rock out with my virtual drumset to some pretty fun music. It's not my favorite game for the 360. In fact, I'm kinda over it... BUT it's a fun party game. Nothing more, nothing less.
...
But back to the question at hand:
I LOVE
Creep (I wish they had more Radiohead songs)
Maps
Sabotage
Here It Goes Again
Say It Ain't So
Should I Stay Or Should I Go
Ballroom Blitz
Wave of Mutilation
I HATE
Green Grass and High Tides
Orange Crush (not because it's hard; it's just SO monotonous bleah)
Blitzkrieg Bop (for the same reason)
Wanted Dead or Alive (again, for the same reason)
Enter Sandman
Welcome Home

Seriously, how long does it take you to learn how to use those to beat it on the hardest difficulty? And when you're done, what do you have to show for it? You probably could have learned the 5-6 chords on guitar, bass, etc., in the time it took you to learn one song on the highest difficulty.
Sorry, but actually being a musician, these games are a disgrace. My friend John's whole claim to fame, is that he can kick your ass at Guitar Hero, when in fact, he can actually play drums. Instead of finding time to practice with his band, he spends 90% of his time playing Rock Band or Guitar Hero.
You're an idiot if you think that's the case. I play the drums, two of my cousins and my brother play the guitar (all three can play a little drums and bass while one plays banjo and mandolin as well), and we all have fun together with Rock Band. More often than not nobody wants to sing so I get stuck doing it but it's still a blast. Sorry your drummer is addicted to video games...
The only song on your hate list that I like Posh is Vasoline, but Chrono... how could you not like The Ramones? :(

lighten up, rock star...
i dont mind vasoline - although i lose my voice when i sing it.
i cant sing for shit but i can score almost perfect on Dont Fear the Reaper on expert - because it's an easy song.
i prefer drumming to anything else though

I knoooooooooooow!
I think what happened was that we kept on playing "random set list" and it kept coming up - I just got tired of it. From the drummer's standpoint it's REALLY boring. I actually liked the song before Rock Band!

Well, well. To outright call someone an idiot, is idiocy in itself. Not to mention, if you all play these instruments, why have you nothing recorded? Why is there no band? If what I say isn't true, then why aren't you playing a gig every night, since apparently everyone in your family plays fantastic. And if they aren't "old enough", you COULD record the music. That was a poor attempt to backup your claim, and it also earned you an ignore list spot.
For the record, I have, in fact, played both of these. And to many peoples surprise, I didn't suck at it. But I still found it very sad, the amount of time people put into this game, instead of upping the skill of the actual instrument playing, for possibly career change. It does have a fairly steep learning curve. And it's really no different than Amplitude or Frequency before it, along with many others.
yiu find everything very sad ... you're a self proclaimed goth.
i think the idea of 'fun' escapes you.
i have no desire to play an instrument - i dont have the time to invest in it - i have a lot of other interests that are a much higher priority.
rock band is something fun i can do with my family from time to time for fun. nothing more nothing less.

We don't want to record anything, play any gigs, or even be a real band. Some people don't WANT to do that, they have jobs and families, not everybody wants what you want. By the way, I said you were an idiot if you truly felt that nobody should play the games but instead they should be in a band and I stand by that. I could care less if you ignore me, I need no reason to "backup" anything.

More importantly. Thanks Chrono for actually answering the question.

I agree with Vampiric Clown, call me a hater but people are way too into these games it's like they sell little kids little toy guitars and stuff it's like they want you to just buy electronic toy guitars.
I really don't like guitar hero/rock band and they have fucked up so many good songs. Also since its only 5 buttons it's nothing like playing a real guitar. Tried Playing About a Girl by Nirvana on Rock Band and it's so off. I will say that I got introduced to alot of great songs from these games and DO like to play them every couple of months. I'm listening to Welcome Home right now, Coheed is shaping up to be one of my favorite bands.

I played rock band for the 1st time Friday. I was doing alright for awhile. I got to the point where if you get a high score you get to do like a 15 sec solo. I was on drums playing to NiN's-Hand that feeds when I dropped the sticks during the solo. I felt like an epic failure.:o

My favorites on 1 were
Maps and
Should I stay or should I go.
I know there were more but it's been a while since I've played it.
I just got 2 and a few of my favorites are
I was wrong (one of my favorite songs, period)
Alive
My own worst enemy
All mainly because I have good tone for them. All I do is sing because I SUCK on the instruments, and I always fuck anything with a lot of range up.

I like a few of the No Doubt songs: Hey Baby, and Don't Speak; The All American Rejects: Move Along, Dirty Little SEcret; Green Day: American Idiot; NIN: March of the Pigs, The Hand that feeds, and a few others.
I tried Guitar Hero a month ago and sucked. I can't play guitar to save my life. That's why I prefer rock band--I'm way more comfortable on the drums. I know the new version of guitar hero has the band. But rock band were the originators. So ha ! :)
