I rarely hear any positive comments about this film. I found it to be a rather good King adaptation...far better than most of his others. I like the ambiguity of the main character and the fact that there really isn't a "good guy." The make-up was also astounding IMO. So my question is why the negativity? If you hate Thinner, give me your reasons. Likewise if you liked it.

I thought it was a good adaptation of the book, but it was just not scary or creepy. It might just be me, but curses and hat sort of thing dont scare me much.

I absolutely loved this one...Probably because it was a bit closer to the book than most are:)

I also really like this one, but I agree that you rarely hear raves for it. Very well done in my opinion and it gets better the more you view it.

I've been thinking about watching this movie but then again I've been thinking about it for several years >.>;;;. I was anorexic once so the whole idea just scares me. Stupid reason not to watch a movie, yes, but I just find the concept scarier than most I guess.

I've been ignoring Stephen King adaptions latley to many have sucked. But I might give it a go if its up there with Carrie, Pet Sematary, Sleepwalkers or Misery

I got to watch this movie in a theatre that had sort of a lounge setup. So I sat there, smoking in a big plush chair. I was definitely in a good environment...however I don't think that I was in the right frame of mind. I wanted something that scared me, but it wasn't that type of film. I think that you're right, Avenger, the ambiguity makes it catchy, but I'm going to have to watch it again with a better attitude.

(Note, at the time that I saw it, I was on a date with this girl, and I was trying to be really cool...as in trying to pull off this punk college girl).

i thought thinner was pretty cool, although i agree that it wasnt very scary, i read a short story once about a guy whose skin started to grow over his eyes and mouth and shit, so it was kinda similar...

Frankly, it bored the shit out of me. I really liked the book tho, it was pretty intense. The movie lacked that i thought. It just kinda no scrap that, it REALLY dragged ass the whole movie...

Definitly not up there with these movies. Okay maybe sleepwalkers;) That movie was pretty weak.
