I just watched this again I hadn't seen it since i was 6 or 7. Its probably one of the better "bubblegum" type of horror films it bet the shit outta crap like Waxwork for the horror/comedy type deal. I haven't seen the sequel yet hopefully its as good as the first.

Hey I love Waxwork!!!!! Fright Night is excellent and one of the few Vampire movies I really like. The sequel is nowhere near as good but worth checking out.

Waxwork was just a bit to cheesy for me it went over the limit to the point that it was too ridiculous to even be funny. But I guess thats just me a lot of people really like the movie. I was also thinking of checking out Monster Squad but I'm kinda put off after seeing Waxwork so I don't know if I wanna risk it.

I never thought of Waxwork as being funny! I guess it gets a bit silly at the end but I think that's just what was happening to a lot of horror movies at that time. Monster Squad I unfortunately only have vague memories of as haven't seen it since it first came out, definatley had more obvious humour though, I think I recall The Mummy getting unravelled after being attached to the back of a vehicle which drives off. Or I totally made that up, memories not what it was!

LOVED fright night! the second was ..ahhhh..not so good. it's tommy lee wallace pic, if you don't know who that is it's a dear friend of mr. john carpenter and he was the one responsible for halloween 3 that most ppl don't care for but i like. it's pretty much a rip of the first one only not as good, however my brother seems to like the 2nd one and bought it off discount dvd for like $7. (new, no shipping)

I LOVE both the Fright Nights. The first one is better, of course. But the second is still great!

I don't remember this either! Gonna go check the DVD when I get home. Maybe it just doesn't spend time on this. Actually I don't even recall the Mum dying?!! I don't remember Charlie being too upset at the end! Weird.

No, I watched it this morning - The mother doesn't die. She's working the late shift during the 3rd act. Evil Ed reads her note which says to Charlie that his dinner is in the oven.

Every once in a while I'll be watching a movie and wonder"what ever happened to.." so I'll look them up on IMDB. I did this with Evil Ed...or his real name Stephen Geoffreys who was also in "976-EVIL" . He went on to do gay porn.[not that theirs anything wrong with that, to each their own.]

Ironically, Chris Sarandon, who plays Jerry Dandrige , first movie role was that of Al Pacino's gay lover in Dog Day Afternoon. [A great movie by the way ] but he's not gay.Been married twice, first wife was Susan Sarandon.

hmmmm somebody has too much time on their hands, thats what happens when the boss goes home early.

I liked both Fright Night movies but the first is especially great because of Evil Ed! What a character! Stephen Geoffreys is certainly a unique talent...

His mom was working night shift that's why she wasn't home. I just watched it this weekend. I think you may have your movies mixed up.

Peter Vincent- " Where is Mrs. Brewster" after he finds Evil in the bed.

Evil- "She had to work late. But she left a note saying dinner is in the oven."

is that really what he's doing now. wow, quite a step down.

i watched this movie the other day on starz, and i realized it had been quite a while since i had initially saw it. i like the end when you see his friend's red eyes in the dark and you hear him laugh.

So was that him (Ed) in the house at the very end? I was but a child when I saw this movie, however, I did like it a whole lot at the time.
