What's the best death scene in any movie?
Captain Rhodes in Day of the Dead is one of my favorites.
hmmm...good question. I like the kills in the sleepaway camp sequels quite a bit. Namely the lawnmower getting run over the woman's head.

I have to say I like the kill scenes in City of the Living Dead.. Where the priest is looking at the female and makes her regurgitates her organs up.. Also I like the killing scene in Nekromantik where the guy is stabbing himself and he jerks himself off and he cums blood.. very kewlll

Good one, I forgot about The Gates of Hell (aka City of the Living Dead). All the kills were great in that movie.

My top five are, along with Cap. Rhodes in Day of the Dead:
Tom Savini in Maniac, the cook in The Blob (1988), the mortician in Phantasm II, and that dude in Scanners that got his head blown off.

along with city of the living dead and Nekromantik I would have to say .. The old lady that gets her head smashed by the basketball in "deadly friend"
The scene where Seqourny Weaver`s baby alien gets sucked through the tiny hole in Alien Resurrection
(Even though this movie is more of a sci-fi, I love this scene though)
and last but not least every killing scene in a horror movie.. Hmmm can I say that ..?? :D

one of my favorites is when in Wishmaster 2, the inmate wishes for himself to go through the bars, and out of the prison. But , Wishmaster being the person that takes everyword seriously, forces the guy through the bars with blood gushing out of his eyes,nose,ears, through his cheeks, everywhere. the dude barely makes it thruogh the bars, and is reduced to a pile of blood soaked skin. Brilliant.

I like all the kills in Day of the Dead. There were some pretty nasty ones in Freddy vs Jason as well.

Best kill in a horror movie. My pick would have to be from the bride of chucky when Tiffany throws the beer bottle at the mirror on the ceiling and all the glass comes down and stabs the couple to death. I also liked the deah in final destination 2 when the guy gets impaled by the safety ladder. Deadly.

There is Dario Argentos killing in Suspiria, which is what came to mind first...
I hope you'll count this... it's a suicide-but it's still flashy like a killing. The subway scene in Suicide Club. And also the Japanese David-Bowie guy who has his secret killing lair in a bowling alley... he's pretty great.

There are so many it is hard to pick a fav. but one of them I thought was cool was in Fri the 13th, Kevin Bacon gets an arrow thru the throat, after mom grabs his head. Shouldnt have been smoking that bad stuff.

ahh yeah there is some great kill scenes in Friday the 13th.. In fact in the whole series of movies... :D

I love the scene in "Bloodsucking Freaks" where the mad doctor drills a whole in the females head and sticks a straw thru it to suck out her brains... Very funny.. But that whole movie is entertaining and it has some unique scenes in it..

my favorite death is in halloween 6 the curse of michael myers when the father goes down in the basement and michael electicutes himand the white crap comes out of his mouth and his head blows up

Wrong Turn - The axe head-split.
Child's Play - Hammer to the skull and knocked out of the window.
Final Destination - The bus scene.
Final Destination 2 - The glass and airbag scenes.
Friday The 13th - Marcy gets the axe to her face.
A Nightmare On Elm Street - Tina's death.
Wishmaster - The piano wire decapitation.
Freddy Vs. Jason - Jason stabs Trey repeatedly before folding him in half along with the bed. Great scene.
Ghost Ship - The entire opening sequence.
Thirteen Ghosts - Ben gets sliced in half lengthwise from a glass door.
The Shining - Jack swings the axe into Halloran's chest.
Jeepers Creepers - The cop gets decapitated by the creeper's axe.
Pieces - The naked chick gets cut in half by a chainsaw.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) - Pepper gets gored with a chainsaw.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) - The first sledge strike.
The Funhouse - Liz gets clawed by the creature in the air vent.
Sisters Of Death - The girl who got her head blown off in the beginning playing Russian Roulette.
Those are a few...eh heh. :D
I have a couple:
- 'Jason Takes Manhattan': Near the end of the movie, this boxer kid keeps punching Jason, but he can't take him out. After that, he's exhausted and challenges Jason 'to take his best shot'. Jason then knocks his head off...
- 'Cube': In the opening sequence of the movie, someone gets chopped in little pieces by a roster.
- 'Henry - Portrait of a Serial Killer': Henry and his buddy Otis are killing a TV salesman. They slam the tv on his head, after which Henry tells Otis to 'plug it in'. The victim is then electrocuted.

There's a similar shot in Argento's the Stendahl Syndrome.
The Alamo Drafthouse in Austin has a midnight feature - 100 best kill excerpts, compiled by audience poll. I haven't been yet but promise to report if I do.
Was Captain whatsisname in Dawn of the Dead the one who was eaten while taking his blood pressure?
Suspiria does have some great kills - what about the part where the woman falls into the pit of barbed wire?

Toss up of a few. Trey's Death in Freddy vs Jason, The zombie that gets the top of its head sliced of in the blades of the chopper in Day of the Dead, and the Marine that gets his neck broken in Jason X. Not a very scary or gory death but I love the slow snapping sound as he twists the neck ...CRACK!!!!
