SWEDEN:
A 40 year old Swedish man has found a foot in his garden and the police believe the human remains are the result of a murder.
According to Aftonbladet, the police were digging up several bags containing what they believe are human body parts.
A Swedish family man who had just bought a summerhouse in Østre Malmö found the foot in his garden.
The man explained that he had smelt a strange odour in his new garden and that he decided to dig up the drain to find the source of the smell.
«A woman's foot»
The man discovered a foot sticking out from a plastic bag. According to the man it was a woman's foot, but the police is not yet certain if the remains come from a man or a woman.
The police have started investigations and have reportedly found a number of plastic bags said to contain human body parts.
«We have been digging for hours and we have found several plastic bags that we believe contain human remains», said the police.
According to Aftonbladet the body parts have been in the soil between six months and two years.
Rented out the house
The man who found the foot bought the summerhouse for NOK 60.000 a few weeks ago. The house had been on the market for 3 years.
The former owner never used the house himself but rented it to friends and relatives.
Neither the former owner nor the man who found the foot is being investigated in connection with the murder. The police are now trying to find out who has been renting the summerhouse over the last years.
The area surrounding the summerhouse is normally not in use from November to April as the water is disconnected during this time. Still, it is not impossible that someone has broken into the summerhouse in order to hide the dead body during this time.
Woman missing
One of the women who are reported missing in the local area is 18 year old Marua Ajouz, who disappeared in December last year.
«She came back home to pick up NOK 500 for food a few days before disappearing», Marua's father told Aftonbladet.
The father said Marua had been in Lebanon to get married a few months before disappearing but that she got divorced just a few weeks later.
The father claims he does not think his daughter has been he victim of a crime.
The police said they will investigate a number of cases where people have gone missing in connection with the murder case
