No, this isn't a farewell thread. My toe's smashed in the door and I'm gonna keep it there. But I won't deny the fact I belong to a few other forums dealing with different types of fantastic fiction. They'e all pretty much like HDC in design. You register, a confirmation email is sent immediately and BAM! you're a member. However I've tried to join the Rue Mortuary at Rue Morgue.com four times and been rejected three (my fourth rejection should be arriving any day now). That's how it works. HDC accepted me instantly and Rue Morgue takes anywhere from 24 to 48 hours to tell me my registration doesn't meet their requirements. Registration process is virtually identical with HDC and the others, so what is it I could be doing wrong? Knee-jerk detestation? I'm not asking anyone to solve my problem but you all seem fairly forum savvy. Any insights? I would appreciate it.

Do you know anyone on those forums? If so, ask them to send a message to the admin asking if you're doing something wrong.

I signed up for Rue Morgue and it took about a week before I got a confirmation email. I'm not sure why it isn't accepting your application though. Now I love Rue Morgue Radio and Rue Morgue in general but their forum is pretty boring compared to here. Why would you want to leave?

No, I don't want to leave. I'm staying here. It's just that I came to HDC because my first two attempts at Rue Morgue failed and I wanted to join a horror forum. I tried Rue Morgue first because I collected their magazine. Naturally I don't anymore. I made attempts three and four basically to see if anything had changed. It didn't.

No, unfortunately I don't know anyone there. I tried to contact the moderators on duty at that time but the forum wouldn't let me. It's weird. While I'm waiting for confirmation the forum still lets me log in and recognizes me but at the bottom of the page it also says I'm not allowed to make posts or anything else a confirmed member can do. So I'm just sitting here waiting for the axe to fall.:o

Do you want anything asked cause I could tell the mods you have a question. Or there might be an email for inquiries.

What I really would like to know is why do I not meet their requirements. What am I doing wrong. If I knew that, rejection would be easier to take. Right now it seems like little more that knee-jerk dislike. I was going to reply to their next email rejection but if you could ask them why I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for offering.:)

Okay I asked a moderator, but not the magazine editor type mods. hopefull I'll get a response, or they will tell me who to ask.

Thank you. I'm very grateful. One thing I forgot to mention was that I used several different usernames. The first was espy, my initials spelled out; the second was sfear; and the last two attempts were made as bledec, a compression of bleak december, one of my favorite Poe expressions. It didn't seem to make any difference.
