Man beheads dead body
Four people are charged with desecrating dead bodies after breaking into a chapel in Skien, Norway, mutilating four corpses. One of the suspects has admitted to having cut the head off one of the bodies.
The 26-year-old man admitted to committing the grotesque act after the police found the head in the home of one of the other three suspects.
The four suspects are 18, 19, 21 and 26 years old and two of them are brothers. They are charged with mutilation of dead bodies after breaking in to a cemetery in Skien, Norway, vandalizing both the building and the bodies.
Shocked churchwarden
The churchwarden, Gjertrud Eide, said she is shocked by what has happened:
“It is difficult to describe this with words, it is just so brutal and horrifying”.
According to the churchwarden, a member of staff made the gruesome discovery as he came in to work to start the crematory ovens on Monday morning.
Gjertrud Eide said the dead bodies were badly messed up and, according to the police; one of the heads was cut off. The head of another body was cut up whereas the throat of the third body had been cut up. The fourth body had been stepped on.
The head that had been cut off from the body was found at the house of one of the suspects, at the other side of town.
Drug environment
The police said that the suspects belong to a drug environment and they have all been involved in criminal activities before.
The suspects did not stop with the bodies, but vandalized the whole cemetery.
“The entire crematorium is vandalized from the floor to the ceiling, they have mostly broken things”, Eide said.
According to the churchwarden, priests from the whole county have been called in to assist friends and families of the dead.
