I finally saw Bruce Campbell's "Bubba Ho-tep". I liked the movie, and I'll be posting a review in the next day or so.

If you haven't seen the movie, you probably shouldn't read this thread. If you have seen it, I would like to discuss some of the questions I had about the movie. While I liked it, I thought there were some issues that weren't resolved. I've only seen it once, so maybe there are some "Bubba" experts who can help me out.

- Why was the mummy/Bubba wearing that western outfit/cowboy boots? I think this would've made more sense if they'd shown the bus driver or someone wearing it first. Maybe they did, and I missed it?

- Why was Kennedy in a wheelchair while fighting Bubba, but not earlier in the movie?

- Were the bugs part of the mummy thing, or just big Texas bugs?

- Why was the first old lady not asleep when Bubba came after her, but later JFK said it went after sleeping people?

- Didn't it seem like the doctor/boss was going to be evil when the nurse was outside looking at the flashing lights in the shed?

- If the mummy poops souls down the toilet as JFK surmised, then why did souls go flying out of him when he was killed?

- Why could Elvis see things that happened to Bubba? Was it because he looked in his eyes or something?

I'll reply to this thread (replying to yourself, isn't that bad etiquette? :D ) when I remember more of the questions I had about the movie. If you have answers or other questions about the "Bubba", please post them here.

I only read the first sentence, since I didn't get to see the movie yet.

I was supposed to be living near Irvine at the time of their screening a few weeks ago...but stuff happens ya know.

I hope it gets a big enough release to be in SF again...I would drive there to see it.

anything with bruce campbell is gonna be good.

1.bubba's a mummy that got southern-ized,hence "bubba".i guess he stole the clothing.

2.cuz fighting the undead is hard work on old men.

3.scarebs,like someone mentioned earlier.they are associated with the whole mythology.

4.he said bubba went after the old and weak, not just the sleeping.

5.that's reggie bannister,he was in the phantasm films that were directed by the(same guy)bubba ho temp director.

6.uhh...late night snack!?!

7.because he looked into his eyes, and the fact that he was elvis.

i suggest you watch the commentary with "the king" on the dvd.it's funny as hell and i don't even like the commentaries!hope this helped.

I think "Bubba" is a movie that shouldn´t be analyzed all too much. Just enjoyed. ;)

Cause Don Coscarelli directed it and he lives for leaving loose ends in his movies
