Like Touristas for example. Reads something like "a better and scarier film than Hostel."

Now HOSTEL may at be considered good but TOURISTAS was almost unwatchable. It was like a horror by numbers movie. Not as bad as "Army of the Dead" which I don't think had any quotes on the dvd cover.

Because it helps sell the DVD.

This is funny there is a show about this on tvland channel Sony had a fake film reviewer "Phil Manning"

But if it says it is good and is not people might not trust that reviewer anymore. Seems silly

Did you expect them to put a bad review on the cover?

No but just put no comments on the box. I guess it is the same as the videogame industry. There is a regulations on content but not quality. But bad movies and games must inspire people to make better games and movies.

There's alwasy somebody outthere who will say its a great film.then they'll have that person put it on the cover. But if you notice most of the crappy movies with good reviews on them are always by somebody or some site you've never heard of,at least most of the time.

That's great! Did they ask permission to use that?

Yeah, Staci did an interview with them (she does that sorta thing all the time)...She wrote about it here somewhere in her reviews, but it's been a LONG time...It was a while before the DVD first came out :)

I always thought it was pretty cool:cool:

That's how I found HDC. I don't think it was HDC's comment on that particular movie, though.

I always kinda wondered if some reviewers were just being sarcastic.

If I recall correctly, Fear of the Dark has a snippet from an IMDB review on it's DVD.

How sad is THAT? Really says a lot about the quality of the movie, thats for sure...

I have seen other horror.com quotes but don't remember which movies had them

I go by how far they have to go to find a good review. If they have a positive review only at Bloody Disgusting for example, or the Punxsutawney Spirit or Incest Today it means you probably don't have much support and they're fishing. I've seen HDC reviews used for review fishing twice. Boogeyman and Cursed. I was actually leery about trying to find interview subjects and talk horror on HDC because of the forum's alleged fondness for Boogeyman. It's a shame reviews of ours can't be used to back movies that don't blow.

Wow that is strange to say it is "the best of the lot" I would think the first SAW was the best maybe saw 4 was the best of the sequels was what they meant.

Agreed. That did over sell it a bit.
