Congrats to Obama for being our new president.

Thank you, HDC Republicans for being a classy bunch. I thought senator McCains concession speech was very classy, and a boon to all republicans out there. It's a time of change, let's hope we all benefit from it.

Im glad it was Obama cos Im sick of seeing old men up there trying to control things.
Even tho I couldn't vote it still affects me. Just hope he wasn't trying to trick us all. He still has to be better then Bush haha.

It seems he may have had a deal with his kids tho ha. They are getting that puppy they wanted. :)

Yeah still with cheebs. Hittin the 10yr mark almost. It just keeps goin and goin and goin. Nothing changed , still a pain in my neck ( literally got his intial on my neck ha ).

Im around here and there, might try and stick around a bit longer then just a post or 10.

It seems calm in here. So very creepy.

Go Obama :) ( gotta stick to the thread yknow hehe)

Thanks for the support !!! I couldn't vote either but it wasn't because of my citizenship lol--it was because of my age.....but I could always vote in 2012--and 2010 for senate and house races. Or I can just run myself in about 25 years perhaps. I wonder if anyone on HDC would be a supporter of mine.

Anywho--like Flayed, thanks reps and indys for being respectful--if no one else cares I sincerely thank you. Like Barack says : At the end of the election on 11/4--"we must recognize and believe once again that were not just red states or blue states but we are the United States...and together we are a great nation."

So let's not be afraid to sit down and work together during these times for change and in these times of crisis--sure it may be difficult--sure we may not please everyone in the process--but a compromise--a solution is not impossible--Obama's race for the White House and victory, should I add definitely proved it. :) :)

Congrats to Obama! I think out of any president in recent times he has the best chance of getting his face on new currency. Seriously. As long as he doesn't touch my wonderful health care, give welfare cases too much, or tax the rich too heavily I'll be fine. :)

hi spallalalala!

welcome back - glad to hear you are alive and well and still have horrible taste in men (just kidding cheebs).

As DinD notes, the place is quieter now - less vicious newb-flaming, but it is still ticking and quite a few of the older crew have been drifting back in lately.

So - I say:

He looked so irritated with his people when they started booing.

I dont htink he is a bad guy, i just dont think he was the right guy. I voted for him when it was Bush vs Gore, but he was a very different guy back in 2000.

Obama can do whatever the fuck he wants, I could care less.

He will change things in America with the race issues and that alone will make us all stronger.

I don't where you all live but I live in a town that has it's ethics stuck in the 1800's and no I am not kidding.
I am sick of the victim mentality, I am sick of white is better than black attitude and I am sick of this ' they owe me' something BS.. AND I am truly sick of being looked at like I fucking had slaves personally, my hertitage was mixed in with ALL the first peoples of America and were just farmers with no money to own shit. I am not the 90% of assholes that live here, I could care LESS what your fucking skin is tinted, I just want to have my hellos and smiles returned.
I bleed red like every other human here.
Sorry for the rant, but I am tired to the core with all this lame BS that shouldn't even BE afucking issue in the first place....GD, hating because of skin color? Jesus, what a fucked up SHALLOW fucking reason to hate.Get educated and hate because the person is just an asshole...

I am a white female in my 30's and I thought for sure sitting around with my multi-colored, ethnic, all types of fucking religions- friends back when I was 19, that this time would have come and gone, that my children and all colors of children would be able to see a kid and not a race....That we had enough pull to make the world better.
In my opinion race relations have gotten worse and more polarized.
My friend in DC called last night and was crying...she said 'finally- we made it'

I totally get that.

You're absolutely right. What he said in the concession speech--was what he was like in 2000---the Real John McCain. This campaign he got really nasty and gritty unlike himself--that plus the Palin VP choice and him not having a decsive plan for the economy fix I think dealt him in fot defeat.
