Most of us here have a mobile phone. I'm thinking of asking for a new one for christmas. There are a few I'm considering.
Samsung F480 Tocco
This is the most expensive of the three, and also the newest. It's a completely touch screen phone with a customizable interface based on Widgets. It has a 5 mega pixel camera and can have SD cards.

Sony Ericsson W850i
This is the cheapest of the three. I think it's the oldest too. It has a large MP3 player, a 2 mega pixel camera and from what I can tell, is the easiest to control. It's a sliding phone.
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p255/ferretchucker/fone2.jpg
T-Mobile Sidekick 3
This is the middle phone. Not oldest or newest, not cheapest of most expensive. It has a qwerty keyboard and is very sturdy. It's camera is less than 2 megpixels but it has a lot of storage capabilities. Also, instead of a joystick or D-Pad, it has a roller ball.
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p255/ferretchucker/fone3.jpg
So, please, which one would you choose? I'm swaying towards the Samsung, which I just discovered today. I've had my eye on the Ericsson for a while and I finally had a go on the Sidekick and it was easy to use, although the roller ball was very sensitive.
this one is rather nice....and you don't have to worry about losing it.

Wow, ferret. I use an inexpensive Motorola flip phone. It doesn't even have a camera and I don't text much. I do use the phone as my primary so I use it a lot. My monthly bill is between $70 and $80. I have LOADS of minutes that I wish could be rolled over.

I would personally pick the 1st one because I'm a sucker for a sleek design. However, my friend has an Ericsson almost as identical as the second one and he loves it. I guess it depends on the way you use your cell phone. If you like lightweight and want to play music...#2. If you just use it for its primary purpose ,have extra cash to blow and want to show off a little...#1. If you're a gamer and think you'll be using your phone to go on the internet...#3.

Keep your ass AWAY from Ericssons!!
I work at a call centre doing cell phone tech support - I've only been there a couple weeks, but already the vast majority of my calls have been about Ericcsons.
Can't tell you much about the other ones...I don't deal with data phones at all. But I just wouldn't feel right letting you buy an Ericcson unwarned. They're lemons, the whole lot of 'em.

My current phone is the iPhone.
It's certainly not perfect, but it is pretty damn good. Good web browser, good email.
Previous to that, I have mainly had Nokias. They do most things well, and have a pretty intuitive interface.

I dropped a remote control in a glass of tea which really aggravated me. The replacement stopped working but that's ok. I don't watch VHS much anymore.
How in the heck did your phone get in the microwave? Kids?

Im in the same boat as Nella. I have a very basic $20 phone, pay as you go. It looks like crap but it's durable as hell. I dropped it and it fell in 4 pieces but it went back together easy and still works perfectly.
My sister has something very similar to the sidekick and it's a beauty. I think that will be your best bet. The qwerty keyboard is gonna be great and you'll get used to the rollerball sensitivity pretty quick. I just think that if you get the Samsung you're going to have to be very careful with it. I would be scared to own anything so thin and the possibility of ruining the touch screen sucks aswell.

Hmmm. It does look good and I was really set on it, but when I finally had a go on one my friend owns, I felt a bit let down. Maybe it was because I was really excited, I built it up too much.

The sony i feel is a females phone anyways..
it fits snugly in my hand and it works for me..but thats cos i have tiny hands.
i do also have an 027 sanyo..flip top ..for my personal use..
its purple but it looks more pink..
thats not too bad either ..however..the battery keeps dying on it all the time..
u need to leave it on charge overnight all the time.
as i sed..nothing beats the blackberry.

blackberrys are very good.
Just found out the camera on the tocco has face recognition. That's good, right? Well it also has smile recognition. You press the button, and using nface recognition, it doesn't take the photo until the subject is smiling!

me ..ME ..
a woman who has had 11 phones in the past 2 years ..
i either lose them or accidently throw them away by chucking the phone
instead of the rubbish in my hand ..or who threw a tantrum one day
n chucked my phone out the window of a moving car ..
or who drops it my bath water ...
so taking advice from me is kinda not in ure best interest .

Just remember, you have a digital camera (I would assume with all your pics) and the camera on your phone will most likely be loaded with pictures of the inside of your pocket. I'm not a big fan of touch screen devices as I tend to be pretty rough on things and very active, you should be able to counter that with a good case I suppose.

Yeh, it comes with a screen protector that flips around from the back.
And about half of the photos I've posted are from a phone.

Oh, then if you use the camera a lot AND it's got a good screen protector I would go with the touchscreen. I know a lot of people that get a phone to up their "cool" and end up not using 75% of the functions.

Yeh. And there is bound to be a few functions that lay dormant on the touchscreen if I get it. But still, at the moment, that's my favorite.
