Interesting thing about this film, even though the story was different
Valentines Day did get it's start with a bloody massacre:)

Not sure I want to see this in 3D though.

I've always liked the original, even though its not just great, I liked the setting and its entertaining( wonder if we are ever going to get an uncut version of that film?). I'm sure I will see this, but I doubt I will be venturing out THERE.....;) to see it in the theaters. The trailer doesn't look great, but since I have already admitted the original isn't that great, not surprising. Again, it could be fun.

Well, no, actually... Valentine's Day (Feb. 14) was called Valentine's Day long before the St. Valentine's Day Massacre happened in1928- that's why it was called the St. Valentine's Day Massacre- it happened on St. Valentine's Day.

I just got a book today about the origins of holidays, guess I shouldn't speed read?:D

EDIT: Here it is:
The Catholic Church's attempt to paper over a popular pagan fertility rite with the clubbing death and decapitation of one of it's own martyrs is the origin of this lover's holiday.

GD, Catholics are fun!

LOL....you and I apparently have similar goals, I will watch just about anything with a horror label on it, I'm kind of known for it....:p

And since I have seen so much BAD (oh boy have I), I agree that it probably won't be that bad. I figure the worse it will be is forgettable or a bit dull.

While they may have done that on a Valentine's Day there were actually eleven Valentine's Days. St. Valentine of Terni & St. Valentine of Rome are honored on the 14th. There's a lot more to it but I'm sure you get the gist. What book are you reading about holidays?

I haven't seen a 3d movie in YEARS and I don't recall seeing one in a theater so maybe I'll check it out.

You know, I've never bothered with the original...I probably should.

I was an extra in a movie directed by the dude that made the first one :D

Panati's Extraordinary Origins of Everyday Things by Charles Panati

Ch.3- On The Calendar

Ch.8-In the Bathroom is my second favorite subject in this book.

For whatever reason, I can't wait to see this one. It almost looks scary. Maybe it's just the miner costume or the setting. Either way, should be good for a splat or two.

A 3-d movie seems retro and fun. Plus it might refresh horror a bit and make it scary again, seems like the stuff making the theatres is pretty stale.

btw if the 3d glasses look as cool as they do in the trailer I am stealing them.

I normally wait for movies to come out on dvd. I don't like the fact I can't drink a beer and pause the damn flick and I have to listen to a bunch of kids and crap like that. Anyways I saw the trailer and I will be seeing this the day it comes out. It looks like it may be pretty darn good.
