With the unveiling of Project V/F Codename : Informant 3 days away, this is the last spam thread I will post. This will also contain all information I can divulge without giving it away.

Here we go with what you need to know:

In the recruitment thread, I posted several jobs that would need doing. I'm now going to try to give a small rundown of what each entails.

Writers - This is probably going to be the second most needed job, and one anyone can do. Your level of commitment is fairly low. You will be asked to write pieces, not unlike blurbs, for the project. If you have writing talent and a little time to spend, this is for you.

Artists - A specialized job for those who have artistic talent. There have been a few identified, but more are needed. There will not be near as much work, but there will most definitely be fewer of you. Requests will be specific, but fewer and farther in between.

Judges - As I've stated before, this can be one of the hardest jobs there is. It requires time and unbelievable commitment. The content of what appears in the project rests in your hands. It's also insanely fun. Just know, if you think you can judge and you commit, you'd better be ready for the long haul.

Committees - A specialized organizational team task. Must be able to work well with others and commit at least a medium amount of time. Basically, we give you clay, you sculpt it.

Compilers - A task for the very few, the elite. If you have monumental dedication and copious amounts of time to dedicate, this is your pony.

Voters - Just like the real world, voting is everyones job. If you're registered to post, you're registered to vote. Sending lists is expected from everyone here to make this work, so I'll be giving you the stink eye if you don't.

There are 5 of us behind the scenes right now. We're all extremely excited about the scope of this task. This is a beast, people, enormous in size. I can't imagine anyone here not being proud once we're done. This is the beginning of one of the most ambitious HDC projects in history. The road ahead is long and meticulous. The ending reward will be a sight to behold.

If you simply can't wait, there have been plenty of clues posted here for the last month. Feel free to investigate.

I've had an incredible amount of fun working on these insane projects with all of you. Let's see if we can handle this one.

Yea, but I love the stink eye. It's one of my favorite things.

Here's what I don't understand, so clue me in- are these "projects" like contests, or something that get's permanently installed(a new feature) or just some kind of special event like a party?

They're mostly communal efforts that become a permanent part of the forum. Like the Top 100s or your directory efforts (although you've done most of the work yourself.)

The projects are basically our version of FUBU wear. They are giant sized compilations by a fairly small number of hardcore fans.

I started the HDC Top 100 because I thought a lot of the general voting Top 100's for horror that I had read were pretty shallow. We had around 30 members vote, IIRC, and it turned out to be a pretty good list. Basically, we do it to have fun, give new members some insight on our community, and to see if we differ that much from larger projects.

By artistic do you mean visual arts?

Sorry, I should have specified. Yes, we basically will need people who can create a picture and be able to transfer it digitally for use in the project. I've already had to turn away one angry interpretive dancer who was willing to showcase her version of Make Them Die Slowly. Interesting to say the least, but for another day, another project.

Compiling...Is that an organizing job. I like organizing. Can there be a semi-compily job? Like compiling small amounts of data? I'm not sure how much time I will have, but theoretically I have quite a bit of time from 8am when the only morning bus drops me off at school and 1130 when my classes start, just half an hour too early to take the afternoon bus. It's a drag, but it's time.

Here's an example. If you worked for a newspaper, there would be several writers and photographers. They'd gather all of the legwork, then the compiler would organize it, put it where it needs to go, do a final check on details, and then present it to the printer in the final form it will reach the public for approval. If that sounds like the kind of thing you're down for, shoot me a PM. I believe I also had you tagged for another area or two?

I know I was down for art. I think I'll stick with that but if you need help with compiling a few things, or if another compiler gets busy I'll leave my pm box open.

We need EVERYONE. I'm not joking here. I'm making it my mission to try to get everyone involved at least a little. You'll understand more in about 71hrs, but the size of this project is absurd.

This is going to be a lot of fun to witness and participate in, guys. I hope you all jump in at some level.

Thanks to all who have offered up their help.

I'd be happy as either writer, artist or Voter. Or more than one of them!

But I'm curious, when you say artist, do you mean draw and scan?

I appreciate all of the enthusiasm. I've got a ton of PMs to reply to, and I'm exhausted from work right now. Please forgive me, I WILL get back to you.

In less than 48 hours time, you will know what we hath wrought. Be ready. We will need you all.

On October 31, 2008 at 12:01am all will become clear.

Are you ready, my friends?

I think the clock is for something else..i dunno:)

It very well might;)

I've spammed, I've PM'd and clued for a month. In 26 hours, the torment can stop.

I feel we have almost everyone on board.

n00bs, old schoolers, we need you all. I appreciate all of the time you've given to these threads and all of the excitement you've generated.

If we make it out of this project alive and sane, I'll say we will have something to brag about to our grandchildren and the future generations of HDC.

Oh, and just to throw a little drama around, between all the threads, and the confusion of whether there are two projects or one being spammed, there has been a spot on guess. What that guess was, how it was presented or whether the poster realized they were guessing is irrelevant.

Perhaps said poster will get to ease their pain earlier than everyone else. Perhaps not.

You never really know with these things;)
