I have about 40 minutes until my database class. I'm debating skipping because I have a huge migraine but I skipped it yesterday so I could sleep in. I keep missing classes cause I'm so far ahead in them that I sit there and do nothing. I recently started a database of my bfs magic card collection just for something to do. Glad I'm finally back to not being stressed out.

I knoww! I really like database though because of my OCD and love of organization. Any way I can organize things is just fun. I got all nerdy explaining to my mother-in-law why I love making databases. She thinks I'm wierd now. Could be worse. I could be coding a program where I type in the card name and a pop up window tells me all it's info. I know people who would do that for fun, I couldn't because so far I'm not great with C#.
The way the program I'm in work is that Web Design and Programming students have a common first year. Then you choose which one you want to excel at, or get both programs done in 3 years if you like both (optional 4th year for Game Programming) So I have to take programming courses I will likely never need.:p

I recently started playing aswell. I have a pretty sweet deck. If anyone follows MtG I have 4 of these http://ww2.wizards.com/gatherer/CardDetails.aspx?id=152086 and 4 of these http://ww2.wizards.com/gatherer/CardDetails.aspx?id=135500 plus a lot of cards that give green creatures trample. That means I have a creature with infinite power and toughness. Instant win.
Gotta go to class now. bye

Creatures are fragile. Blue control, various artifacts, whatever passes for COP:green nowadays. Not to mention there are any number of creatures and spells that kill creatures instantly.

Right now, I'm on a "smoke break" - never smoked a day in my life and have no intention of starting, but they give my whole training class here at work smoke breaks all the time. So the only thing I "should" be doing right now is lighting a cigarette :p
At home its a totally different story...I have 10 million things I should be getting prepared for next year (filling out university applications, finding/learning new monologues, work on one of my dozen unfinished scripts, ect), but more often than not I just wind up hanging around here for the night instead. Sad, I know...

nerds in love :)
our house is full of cards .. my kid loves pokemon cards - and recently got into Chaotic ...
i have a box of Magic Cards somewhere that i bought at a garage sale with every intention of selling them on ebay - but now i'll just give them to my kid.
also have tons of marvel ones, star trek, vampirella, etc - also bought in a garage sale - run by a dealer getting rid of his stuff (they're all in plastic boxes - complete sets.
and ... i bought at a thrift store - about 35 binders of baseball, basketball, soccer and hockey cards - all complete sets. (my wife likes the hockey cards)
i think they are worth some money ...

i did bring a book in to show a guy at work and ke kept pointing to cards avery couple of pages saying - thats worth 10$, that one is worth 10$, that one is worth a lot ..
half way throught he 1st binder - i'd already paid for the full works ..

I should be getting something to eat for lunch or something since lately (the last maybe 6 months) I have been only eating once a day and that is very unhealthy but I never seem to be hungry anymore.

That's why you get a bunch of cards that prevent any damage that would happen that turn. I play against my bfs direct damage deck all the time.

Green's good against burn. Lots of targets too much toughness to take down with smaller direct damage spells. I was more talking blue control and instant death spells, not to mention stuff that kills all creatures. Though green stomp has good options with cards that let you tap the creature and have them do their power in damage to something or someone. Also effects that turn damage creatures do into life. Though I don't know, maybe the blue control part of Magic has been whittled down over time.

Methinks you quoted the wrong post here - I gave up on Magic cards in 8th grade:p
I was more of a Yu-Gi-Oh guy myself...almost beat a nationally ranked duelist once. If I didn't realize what an ultra dork I was, I probably could have made it pretty far - my deck was badass.
