View Full Version : What actors and actresses do you like and dislike?

I dislike:
*Dennis Hopper (I can't stand this man! He's the reason I didn't watch Blue Velvet.) EDIT: Thank goodness I didn't watch that movie. The man's a pervert!
*Jack Nicholson (I liked him in The Shining and that's it!)
*Russel Crowe (He just annoys me for some reason...I don't watch his movies.)
*Michael Douglas (How old is this man, anyway? He's always in films with very young women. I guess he needs an ego boost.)
*Courtney Love (She does NOT act like a lady!)
*Pamela Anderson (She doesn't look like "the girl next door" like she did when she first got popular. Too much makeup? She just looks rough. Lets her "stuff" hang out all over the place. Can she act? I never watched Baywatch.)
*Brad Pitt (He's one of those idiots who forgot where he came from. He isn't even a good actor, in my opinion.)
*Tom Cruise (Here's another man who needs a young woman to boost his ego. He spews all that Scientology crap up in front of millions of "fans" and bashes people with mental illness, etc. Thinks he's God.)
*Sean Connery (I saw him in an interview with Barbara Walters in which he boasts about smacking his wife around. I should have put him at the top. I REALLY don't like this man, actor or not.)
*Matthew McConaughey (Sp?) (I guess that shows how much I care about him. Don't know how to spell his name...His middle name is arrogance.)
*Colin Farrell (He's a slut!) http://www.angelwebdesign.com/nella/giggle.gif (He thinks he hung the moon...)
I like:
*Kevin Spacey
*Johnny Depp
*Daniel Craig
*Christian Bale
*Maria Bello
*Pierce Brosnan
*Al Pacino
*Robert Deniro
*Val Kilmer
*Dakota Fanning- (She reminds me of my niece.)
*Morgan Freeman
*Naomi Watts
*Samuel L. Jackson
All the ones I like are excellent actors and actresses.
Used to like:
*Antonio Banderas
*Jean-Claude Van Damme
http://www.netflix.com/Search?v1=jean-claude+van+damme&search_submit.x=0&search_submit.y=0
He looks exactly like my younger brother.
I miss:
Heath Ledger

As cute as she might be, I can't stand Scarlett Johannsen. It always to me like she's just had a lobotomy and she really can't emote. As for actors who are awesome, one of my favorites is Jon Cusack for Say Anything and One Crazy Summer. I wrote a sing six years ago about this and how much I identified with him:
Wish I was like Jon Cusack, cause when things go wrong,
He can call on Bobcat Goldthwait and Curtis Armstrong,
He might be full of uncertainty and fear and regret
But he ends up with some sweet brunette.
Well, now he has a serious career
But the boy to which we've been endeared
Wasn't doin' any crazy kooky artsy shit
He was an awkward kid usin' his wits.
When some yuppy guys wanna win some competition,
Jon Cusack stops their plan from comin' to fruition
He'll learn to sail he'll learn to ski
He'll change for the better
To beat the guys with big puffy sweaters.
And then when Jon Cusack gets in a crunch
He'll use the special armor piercing dragon punch
(And now he's rockin' the Shoryuken!)
But I guess that he actually wouldn't.
He spends half the movie tryin' to win the blond,
Gets upset when that yuppie dude takes her and absconds
And once he's conquered all his ascot wearing foes,
The right girl is right under his nose.
Look at these new teen idols I don't really want what they've got,
Though that redhead chick from Buffy might be kind of hot,
I don't think they got it right, and you might ask me why,
But I would rather have Ione Skye.
Jared Fogel has his Subway,
Jerry Falwell has God,
Hannibal Lecter has his Sweeney Todd
We have the Superfriends to stop Gorilla Grodd
But when it comes to eighties angst destiny
Jon Cusack is the hero for me
Even though he died in Stand By Me
And I know that I just rhymed me with me.
Wish I was like Jon Cusack, cause when things go wrong,
He can call on Bobcat Goldthwait and Curtis Armstrong,
He might be full of uncertainty and fear and regret
But he ends up with some sweet brunette.

As i dont know any actors personally - i pretty much have to judge them on their appeal as actors.
i find it impossible to hate someone i dont know. (who isnt a peopdophile or some other scumbag criminal)
with that in mind - i'd have to say the only person who's acting can ruin a movie for me - is Robin Williams.. never found him funny or clever.
I disliked Ryan Reynolds at one point but he's since grown on me.
I dont understand the fuss about angeline jolie - i dont hate her, but i dont like her in movies.
as far as the personal tabloid lives of anyone - i could give a shit. who am i to judge ?
let me know when they start raping people and blowing up countries. then i'll have an opinion.
who's work do i love ?
long list ..
mickey rourke at the top
gene hackman
michael caine
jennifer aniston (shame on you MD - i think she's very engaging :)
early barbra streisand

Bill Nighy is Phil ( the step dad) from Sean of the Dead, as well as Davey Jones from the Pirates of the Carribean movies.
Bruce Campbell is a god. If you have ever seen any of the Evil Dead movies, or Army of Darkness, he plays Ash, the hero in all 3.
If you havent, you are missing a HUGE treat, and i suggest you go out and get Evil dead 1 and 2 right now and watch them. We'll wait.

Thanks, Vod, for the explanation. I really don't like movies about zombies, witches, cannibals, and vampires. I tend to like slasher horror.

Nella, you're the total opposite of me - the movies you don't like are the ones I prefer and I don't care for the ones you like, what I call slice-n-dice. There are a few exceptions, like Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street - but only originals and none of the sequels.

ah - definately not Still Crazy.
Still Crazy is sort of in the same ballpark as Spinal Tap (although not done in docu format)
its about a bunch of aging rocker who were in a band - kind of like Led Zep. who are convinced by one of their members to reform and work their way through small european clubs to prepare for a big concert.

Some of the things I have read may not be true so I can't be so judgmental about them and their private lives. I still don't like Sean Connery because I saw the real interview with him. Sanders. How can you get more smarmy than his suicide note-
"Dear World, I am leaving you because I am bored. I feel I have lived long enough. I am leaving you with your worries in this sweet cesspool - good luck."
That is a famously smarmy suicide note. I guess you're right. There's no competing with George.

A poorly resized Mephistopheles I intend to replace with a decent image as soon as I figure out how.
