I've read a lot of bad reviews on this movie and was just looking for other opinions. Preview looked cool, but the reviewers said that was about it for quality.

If you like laugh-a-minute comedies, rent it. If you're expecting a serious horror film, stay away.
I liked it b/c very few movies have made me laugh that hard.

Well, I like funny shit, so I think I might check it out. For a moment, I had it confused with Rob Zombie's House of 1000 coarpses. Is that one good? Ive been wanting to see it.

House of 1000 Corpses would be a better rent than House of the Dead. I thought House of the Dead really, really sucked. (And Im a guy that loves cheesy over the top gore and bad acting.) House of the Dead is too terrible to be funny though. And what the fuck is with them flashing clips from the video game every 15 minutes or so? That sucked. It totally takes away any momentum that the movie is trying to build when the scene sbruptly cuts to a clip of a fuckin video game zombie.
House of 1000 Corpes is better. (But not great.) It's basically a Texas Chansaw knock off, but there is sufficient gore as well as some suspenseful scenes.
But if you ask me, I'd say go rent Wrong Turn. (Unless you already saw it.)

I'd rather watch the TCM remake 100 times in a row than watch House Of 1000 Corpses once more.
That movie was shit, it's just like TCM, but shittier, and with some fucked up doctor.

If you haven't seen it you should, but just don't be surprised.

I would only watch the house of the dead for the nudity but other than that that movie sucked BIGBALLS sure it was pretty funny but i was hoping it would actually be good.

I personally liked the game then the mess up the movie where they're not even in a house and the put parts of the game in it which it look REALLY gay

I don't know. I think I'll stick with my original "fear of anything new" plan and stick with the ones I have seen and love to watch numerous times.

is it like the video game? Do zombies do Ninja Bandit flips and then stagger about zombie-like after they land?

Coincidentally I'm renting this later tonight. I think it'll be just like Resident Evil, which I loved. Therefor I'm excited about seeing it.

My thoughts exactly, and I'm going to buy it for that reason alone. This is the best cheese B zombie flick since Return of the Living Dead.
