Nearly 50 years in the biz, the great Paul Naschy is starting to get some recognition amongst the uninitiated. Spain's(Europe's) premiere horror star, his films combine the lush low budget aspects of the Hammer classics, the exuberant bloodlust of Jess Franco's more sadistic epics, and a touch of the supernatural(ala Bava). He's portrayed a wide variety of monsters, but his signature role is always the werewolf. One of my favorites is Werewolf vs. the Vampire Woman. Unfortunately, a lot of his work STILL doesn't play in the states, but hopefully, a more well-known countryman will champion his cause(hint, hint, Mr.s Bardem, Almovadar or Banderas). Add his work to your collections, whenever you get the chance. You wont be sorry.

Werewolf vs. The Vampire Women has one of my favorite gaffs in a horror movie: Daninsky suffers from the mark of pentaGON in it.

Well, he was definitely one of the most animated of the non-CGI, pre 80s FX werewolves. They almost approached the quality of Hammer productions, but stiil kept a nice B-Flik undertone to them.

He makes great stuff...

Hunchback of the Morgue is one of my fave non-wolf ones.
