What did people think about Bioshock? I 'm playing it right now, and honestly I'm a little disappointed. I went to EB Games to get a different game and the guy convinced to get Bioshock instead. He raved about it so much I thought it would be amazing. The graphics are really good and I love the concept, but the whole game feels really repetitive to me.

Most of us here have played it, and I don't think anyone will disagree with it being one of the best available games.

Maybe my expectations were set too high from the sales guy. It's not a bad game, I just want more from it I guess.

I went into it, not really expecting a whole lot. I thought it was fantastic. But then again, I never set myself up high for anything anymore. Things are much better, when you expect nothing, from something.

Ive been let down from a game because of a sales guys opinion before. Nowadays I always try renting the games first to get my opinion on it. I rented Bioshock and I liked it. I beat it twice inside a week but after that I was done with it and went on to something else. I think its a pretty good game that I give much praise for its originality. Now that ive played it I believe why things like game informer gave it 10 out of 10 was because of the games originality. But then again I had pretty high expectations from it too after all the great reviews it got. I might have also just been led to believe it was greater than it is.

Where are you? Have you fought a Big Daddy? Have you started upgrading your weapons?

I'm in Neptune's Bounty and I just got the camera. The Big Daddy's kill me a lot. In terms of upgrading, I have a lot of good weapons but in terms of upgrading my plasmids I haven't done too much of that yet.

Stayed at my bro's this past week and he had it. I only got to neptunes bounty so I can't say much but I thought it was great. Definately not one of the best game like most say though, I really don't get why people thought so, althought it may have gotten better later on.
I do want to get it when I get a 360 though and the story sounded pretty cool. Whooped like 4 big daddy's. Wasn't too scary like people said. Except in the first level when the lights go out and like 4-5 enemies come at you.

It's one of the best, because it's unique and different than your standard, FPS games. There are things I would change, sure. But what game would you not?

Question:
Bioshock just went down in price at Gamestop.
I was tempted to pick it up because of all the love this game gets around here.
I know this would be a great way to never see my husband when he is home, which is a plus
BUT
I am a tad afraid to buy because of the amount of time you have to spend and the addictive quality.
Will my children have to start raising themselves?

Nah. Even though it requires a bit of learning, you can technically finish the game in about 2-3 days. That's playing at about 2-3 hour sessions off and on.

It has great replayability too, so if it seems like it was over too quickly, crank up the difficulty and try other tactics.
