Or seen an advance preview as a member of a test-audience or something.

Yes, the original DOD rocks like Richie Valens.

while dawn is more about capitalist consumerism, day is more about mistrust for the government/ authority. yay viet nam.

both dawn and day of the dead are awesome zombie movies

I love the opening scene in day of the dead, the camera on the ground, filming up at the light, the zombie that blocks it, love it

avenged, are you serious about what dawn is about???

well, people turn into zombies, a few people get away with a chopper to land on the roof of a mall, they go in and create a home there
it's an awesome movie
watch it flyboy!!!!!! (I know your a girl, but well, just watch it okay)

as it mostly goes with sequals.... the younger the movies are the worst they get

but it's still good you know
night had that old black and white feeling
dawn had the, aaah perfect world in a small place kinda feeling
and day has that, wtf should we do damned thing

I find that all three movies, Night of the living dead, Day of the Dead, and Dawn of the dead all kicked major ass!!!!

Dr.Kelvinstein
01-26-2004, 03:02 PM
Night is probably best because the idea was original and Romero kept the scares to the minimal basics.

Dawn is the most ambitious, and Day has the biggest budget and has the best "look."

They all rock, though.

Dawn Of The Dead fucking owns! Its weird there making a remake why not pour all those resources into making a orignal zombie movie that'll become a cult classic like Dawn of the Dead Hollywood just doesn't make sense to me  !!!

I believe day wasnt as good as dawn. I really like the Night of the living dead remake. That damn woman with the cataratcs and baby doll still freaks me out.

The main thing it didnt like about Dawn was the white guys (i'm white, calm down). The woman seemed relatively together, and the black guy (jesus, i cant remember any of their names) ws basically Ben from the original. The white guys were basically Ballsy asshole #1 and wimpy asshole #1.

These movies always have the essential element of at least one person stupid enough to fuck things up for everyone else.

i was always pleased that the black guy(ken foree?) is the survivor at the end of dawn, and that the two arrogant/irritating whiteys ended up turning blue..

How can you say that?:( Roger was cool as hell. Hell, he's the main character at the beginning of the film.

It takes more than a shitload of zombies to kill Ken Foree.

Yes, but really, how stupid do you have to be to get bitten by a dead person? I mean, really. The man was a SWAT officer, not pro-bowler.

He was just getting cocky. It was almost like he wanted to get bit.

Dawn of the Dead is the best zombie movie, it's pretty damn hard to beat.

but can anyone tell me why the child zombies don't move in super slow motion. :D The child zombies are what I'd be scared of.

HighPriestWise
01-28-2004, 12:37 PM
That's a good point!
I would be more scared of the kids then any of them!

dawn = perfection, it even has a whole eden element to it...
day = much darker, oppression everywhere, but in the end they get what they diserve.

Though i love them both, dawn cant be beat.

overrated

I give NOTLD much credit because it was the film that of course began the trilogy and was classic for the time. Over the years though I've lost interest of the first one and flocked two both of the sequels. The original started the story but the sequels perfected it.

honestly, when i watched NotLD i was about 14, so it was a while ago and i havent seen it sence...but i remember not really thinking it was that great. I was a lil shit back then and probally couldent look past the Black and white, id like to see it again but i traded my copy (which encluded reefer madness) for RepoMan...sigh...what was i thinking, you can get that anywhere

yea that's true. i guess i'm thinking more of flyboy (steven?) and the fact that white guys (and women) always survive. rog and ken made a great team and that buddy thing was indeed palpable. good thing about dawn is, there is no *true* survival though. everyone is still f*cked! one of the reasons that i love slaughterhouse so much is that (SPOILER, NOT THAT ANYONE CARES) the human piglet is about to stab that girl right in the face as the movie ends. niiiiice
