The original is great.

This one will truly suck as an english-languge adaptation and I even told the producers as much. The age of the children is everything. The violence, romance and odd sexuality which makes the story so impactful are played against the pubescent age of the characters involved. This will never fly in the States, so they'll have to make the kids teenagers... which will suck and make the whole thing a fucking bore.
