Well, haven't made it to the end yet, I'm like, in the middle right now. I know the opening sequence was pretty fucking gross. It other words...COOL!

i mean like a paranormal movie were it's not all about killing the people and cutting them in half out in the middle of nowhere.

I really don't understand what your saying. A Horror movie is defined by varying factors. There are different kinds of horror movies, not just slasher films. Your talking about slasher films. Which is a sub-division of horror movies. There ARE other kinds.

Other than the opening sequence, the movie is pretty lame.
Even then it wasn't all that great. Horror movies are obviously fake, but a cable cutting a whole boat full of people in half? That's a bit far-fetched for me.

Well, I'm close to the end now, and it seems like a good movie to me. Compaired to most of today's shitty movies, its DAMN GOOD.

You would be surprised what a cable with a lot of tension on it can do, learn this from working around heavy equipment, and I thought this film was pretty good.

I agree. It looked very believable to me as well.

it wasnt a fantastic movie, but it had its good parts. The montage of what went down on the ship was great
Unrealistic or not, the cable scene kicked ass. i was eating dinner when i saw that. Didnt help that it was pizza.
the end really could have used some work, though. I really like "Not Falling" by Mudvayne, but they managed to beat it with a hammer at the very end. Not to mention it wasnt even particularly appropriate for the scene.

I agree with Sam, but I still enjoyed it. A good cast can make up for a lot of things sometimes.

I didn't like the movie. The cable scene was alright. It wasn't gross. The movie wasn't terrible but it wasn't great.

Ghost Ship starts out great, the opening massacre was excellent. All goes a bit limp after that. Good performances and nice sets but I think it was the script that dragged it under.

the bit with the dance floor and the wire flying across the ship was great but the rest was pretty average

It's good just about through that ten minute or so intro when everyone gets hacked up.
After that it's really not too interesting and doesn't do much to set itself apart from any other horror movie, but hey... There's been worse crap released in the past few years.
