What's the best of Stephen Kings movies? Cujo? It? Pet Semetary 1, Pet Semetary 2? You decide.

The Shining, The Mist, Needful Things, Shawshank Redemption, Green Mile...

Not in any particular order.

The Shining was the best of his work I think, but Pet Semetary scared me more because I saw it when I was much younger.

And the greatest Stephen King cameo line ever:

"Honey, this bank machine just called me an asshole."

Shawshank is one of my all-time favorite movies, so it gets the nod for King's best adaptation.

It was the best made for TV movie

Pet Semetary scared me the most

So many great movies to choose from & a few stinkers

:) I never pass an opportunity to tell people they are wrong :D

I actually liked Rose red a lot more than I expected. Nancy travis made a good psycho

The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer though... Holy boring batman... (although it is a derivation from Rose Red and not from Stephen King)

The Shawshank Redemption needs to go on my favorite movies of all time list.

Misery
The Shining (1980)
Carrie (70's)
Cujo
Secret Window

None of the movies scared me a whole lot. Certain scenes made me jump, though. I've watched Misery and The Shining a lot and I've also read the books. I think I read Carrie when I was pretty young but I'm pretty forgetful.

I watch and read Stephen King routinely.;)

Favorite is The Shining as I think this is one of the only ones that beats the story. The Mist is a close call though. Damn, that ending does it for me. One of the best endings ever put on film.

Others I liked would be:
Misery
Shawshank
Green Mile
Secret Window
The Stand
Dreamcatcher

I didnt really like It, Cujo, or Pet Semetary that much. I guess Pet Semetary is my favorite out of the bunch though.

Kubrick should get the credit for The Shining, the more faithful to King's story version was rubbish.

I'd go with Carrie but Pet Semetary and It both have their moments.

He's been responsible for some pretty bad movies too, like Maximum Overdrive which he directed himself.

Its got a small following I reckon :D

I dig a lot of shit like that... my collection has heaps of stuff 99% of people consider "bad" :)

Christine was a great SK adaption and one of Carpenter's best flicks.

Pet Sematary is the best King adaptation, and just a great horror movie in general. I was also very pleasantly surprised by The Mist.
