Oh so true, Creeper. Khan was probably the first guy that scared me. I saw "The Wrath of Khan" when I was just a wee lass. Definitely a ruthless bastard.

I wish I could bring up video games, because then I could really....anyway.

Villains: besides afore mentioned
Jack Torrence/the Overlook Hotel
Pennywise (although turned out to really be female)
Pinhead
Dracula (camp, but timeless)
wassname from A Clockwork Orange (before the govt. got him)
Bad Ash (had to)

Heros:
Dimitri (Exorcist)
Stu Redman (The Stand...book and Gary Sinese rocks my socks)
eventhough he dies, the man from NLOTD (the guy the rednecks kill because he's black. (I cannot for the life of me remember his name, but I remember really liking him because he knew just how to survive....until they shot him.
Ash- no brainer he's just so, well, ash.

That's all of the good guys. I could make an eternal damnation scroll of the bad ones. I LOVE a good bad guy.

LOL As if men don't already have enough attension. Its kinda like this: A group of fat people, and one skinny person, go on a picnic. The fat people scarf up all of the food in the basket except for ONE lemon meringue pie. The skinny person jumps on it out of desperation and promptly eats it up. The fat people get mad, and begin to scream "Hey, that's not fair. You ate the whole pie by yourself and we didn't get a single piece!" The skinny person explains, "Well, if you all had not ate up everything else in the basket, you would have gotten your share of the pie. As it stands, you deserve no pie because you were selfish in your desire to take everything else for yourself. So, from now on, when we go on other picnics, nobody will get ANY pie, until I get my fair share of the rest of the meal."

The moral of this story is... Well, if you don't know, then your mentality is that of the fat characters.

Why does everything always have to be male versus female?

What are you implying?

Im implying that the gulf between male and female is deeper and more vast than any ocean. And i venture to expect we will never even begin to understand eachother.

It isn't necessary to "understand" each other...Sometimes the differences are so great that it is impossible to understand ...The important thing is to "be aware" that the differences exist and to accept and respect each other, despite our differences...no matter how different we are

If there are threads about women, then in interest of equality there should be a guys in horror thread.

Sure, knock yourself out. But remember that the ONLY reason there is a women in horror thread is because there are so few important female roles in horror films. There is really no need for a men in horror thread because most of the significant roles in horror are played by, well, MEN. Get it?

sure, but actualy, I wasn't speaking about gender equality when I said it made no sense to have a men in horror thread. I just meant the forum itsself is primarily about men. Because most of the monsters are men. Its called practicality. Aparently you failed to read my "Fat people and the pie" story.

but the topics aren't exclusive to being about men. There are 2 topics that are about women. Not a character or characters that happen to be women, but women. "Horror chicks" and "How are women represetned in slasher movies?" (paraphrasing, obviously). That a lot of the characters are men, and that there are threads about them, do not mean that the threads are about men. Is a thread about Freddy about men? No. It's about a particular man, just as a thread about, say, Sadako/Samara isn't about women. There are threads about women that are specifically made for conversing about women. One about women horror characters and one about how they are represented in slasher movies. If you are for gender equality, then you have nothing to complain about that there is a thread about guys in horror.

Star Trek isn't horror, though.

it was said in response to Kahn being brought up.

Now, lets get back to the subject.
