Warner Bros. Pictures plans to rerelease blockbuster The Dark Knight in January, the height of Academy Awards voting season, says The Hollywood Reporter.

"It's just a matter of bringing it back as a reminder for people," a source told the trade.

Warners domestic distribution president Dan Fellman acknowledged ongoing talks with IMAX executives about the prospect of restoring the film to some number of giant-screen venues in January. It's uncertain if The Dark Knight also will reappear in conventional theaters at that point.

To date, the film has earned about $513 million domestically and $440 million internationally, including more than $55 million in IMAX grosses. The DVD and Blu-ray Disc are expected to hit stores in

I'm not to keen on seeing it a 3rd time. I'll definitely grab a copy of the DVD though.

I'll buy it on DVD.

And then I'll see it in theaters in January.

I don't think I've ever seen a movie in theaters twice, if so, definitely never more than twice.

Hah- I once saw the same movie in the theatre six times in 7 days.

There were no dvds or tapes then though.

I've probably seen that movie 6 times as well. Maybe 10.

Hysterical.

I saw Independance Day 7 times in the theater.

What? I was young, and the special effects were amazing. I'm prettymuch obligated to the Dark Knight in the theater again, to make restitution.

I saw Harry Potter 4 3 times in the theatre. Once with my family, once when staying with cousins who wanted to see it, then out with friends who wanted to see it. Yawn.

I think it is still in theaters here too. Maybe i will get some time to go again....

I taught Lily a trick a while back. She looks up, justy under her eyebrows and says "Why so serious?" Its cute and a little creepy :D

My "Lily as Heath Ledger's Joker" for halloween idea was overruled though, basically because we have already spent money for her to be Emily Elizabeth. I suppose its for the best.
