Woody Harrelson (Natural Born Killers, No Country for Old Men) will star in the horror comedy Zombieland for Columbia Pictures.

Ruben Fleischer will direct from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (The Joe Schmo Show).

Gavin Polone will produce via his Parish Films company.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Zombieland revolves around a mismatched pair of survivors who find friendship and redemption in a world overrun by zombies. Harrelson plays one of the men, a zombie fighter named Albuquerque."

I hope this movie will have a nice story and not just another zombie movie where there is an epidemic which washed out all the people and now a few survivors are running for their lives because zombies are running after them.

Emma Stone is in final negotiations to star alongside Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg in the horror/comedy "Zombieland" for Columbia Pictures.

Ruben Fleischer will direct the pic, which centers on a band of survivors who team to fight the living dead in the post-apocalyptic Southwest after a zombie plague ravages America. Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese penned the screenplay.

Gavin Palone is producing the film, which begins shooting in Atlanta in February.

Project marks the third comedy in which Stone will star for the studio following "Superbad" and "The House Bunny." She recently wrapped the independent feature "Paper Man" and can soon be seen alongside Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner in the Warner Bros. romantic comedy "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past."

hmmmmmmmm - I'm suspicious of the kid-presence. Could turn out to be a kid-action flick.

Too bad. Harrelson looks badass.

i met harrelson once and he is totally freaky - in person his eyes just scream "I'M PSYCHOTIC" but he seemed very loving towards his kids so who knows.

definitely crazy eyes though

The boys over at UGO have posted a bunch of rules to surviving the zombie outbreak.

In the film Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) has made a habit of running from what scares him. Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) doesn’t have fears. If he did, he’d kick their ever-living ass. In a world overrun by zombies, these two are perfectly evolved survivors. But now, they’re about to stare down the most terrifying prospect of all: each other.

just saw this and i actually loved it. not scary but fun in a Return of the Living Dead kind of way. not kid friendly (as I would have guessed). it was very quirky college-comedy (with the guy from Adventureland playing basically the same character here) with cool zombies and fun rules of survival. i laughed harder than i would have guessed.

It wasn't perfect by any stretch, but it was TONS of fun, even if all the characters except Woody Harrelson annoyed me. A very nice super-polished ultra-modern zom-com. A good solid laugh every 10 minutes or so. Go see it!

Yo, this movie looks freakin' bad ass, Woody back on top. anyways. I really like the tone of this movie. I'm going to see it this Friday. Also nice to see a Zombie movie up on top of the box office, i hope it starts a trend for some quality zombie movies.

His characterisation was as such that he was made to look that way. I thought he was perfect and lent more color to the group. Easily the best performance I have seen from him for a long time.

And yes, the film is as close to perfection as it can get. Wonderful and pacy script and brilliant direction, very neat cinematography and kickass characters. Its an absolute hoot. Go watch it in the theatres asap.
