Remember Movie Of My Childhood

hey everyone! looking orward to the forums.

I need some help and this may rattle your brains – I NEED TO REMEMBER MY FAVORITE HORROR MOVIE OF MY CHILDHOOD. My brother and I for the last 2 years have spent hours researching and reliving the memories of us sitting around watching this movie and after over 600 days of trying to remember this title, I am now asking for help. Here is in short the basis of the movie.

These Leech things rise up from the sewer (somehow) and invade a community. The leeches are not your average run of the mill leeches though, once they enter your mouth they cause you to become a zombie. I can’t remember for sure but I think once they enter your body, they reproduce and then the babies shoot out of the zombies mouth to infect/invade another human body. They only way to kill the zombie is the kill the leech inside the zombie’s brain so the heroes of the movie have to go around cutting/shooting people’s heads off while prot3ecting their mouths from the leech things.

Uh…..any leads?

I know it’s vague but I think you guys have the knowledge and resources to help me find out the movie title…
