Hey - i just bought something that others may be interested in.
some of you might remember me raving about Toronto Musician - Nash the Slash. The early part of his career saw him creating these dark and wonderous soundscapes using an electric violin and/or mandolin.
Later he covered several popular tunes adding his own twist - and vocals.
He also performed live - providing soundtracks to silent films such as The Cabinet of Dr. Calgari, Nosferato, Un Chien Andalou, and The Lost World.
I saw Calgari and Lost World performed live .. and was never able to enjoy the films again - because of the absence of Nash the Slash's music.
well, christmas came early for me a couple of days ago ...
I periodically check his webpage for gigs - and found that he is offering a limited edition of all 4 of the above - scored films - in a DVD collection ..
and he's only putting out 100 of them.
mine just showed up .. (No. 17/100)... the picture is what you'd expect - the music is crystal clear.
i have no idea if anyone is interested in these - i dont even know if there are any left ..
but i thought i'd throw the link up in case it appealed to anyone ..
Speaking for myself - I'd have bought this at 3 times the price ...very happy with the set.
