V you've been holding out on us!

I just read there's a new Coffin Joe movie in the works! It's called Embodiment of Evil and is a direct sequel to Tonight I will Possess Your Soul.

I'm a big fan of Coffin Joe, so this is very exciting.

Here's the official website:

The production values look better than Marin's past films, and Marins has aged quite a bit. He looks even more evil!

The only Coffin Joe film I have seen is At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul, I watched it a few months ago and I really loved it. The other I have recorded and haven't watched yet (I would like to own them eventually. But isn't there a third film already? Or is the third film separate from those two?). Anyway, I had not heard anything about this. I will definitely be watching it. Thanks for posting this neverending.

It was announced today that One-Eyed Films has acquired international rights to “No morire sola” (I WILL NEVER DIE ALONE), from Argentinian horror outfit Paura Flics, while also revealing that plans are underway to bring Coffin Joe to the big screen in America with his first English-language pic tentatively titled THE BITTER GARDEN.

ALONE, from Argentine director Adrian Garcia Bogliano (the madman behind the incredible ROOMS FOR TOURISTS), is an extreme rape revenge thriller in which a gaggle of femme victims travel to a small town in the La Plata region to exact bloody vengeance. The pic will be finished this October and ready to deliver to One-Eyed.

The pick-up continues One-Eyed’s crusade to push Latin American genre movie-making.

One-Eyed repped “Tourists” and Bogliano’s sophomore sally, the tongue-in-cheek five blonde girls slasher “36 Steps.”

“36 Steps” has sold to Tiberius for Germany, Condor Media in the U.S. and Spain’s Factoria de Canales.

In other major news, One-Eyed, a production and sales company, has also sold a nine pic package, the Coffin Joe Horror Collection, to U.S. cabler IFC.

Collection features the dastardly deacon of Latino gothic horror, Coffin Joe, created by vet Mojica Marins. Titles include “Awakening of the Beast” and the memorably titled “This Night I Will Possess your Corpse.”

“IFC had acquired three titles previously and their ratings surprised the channel,” said Goldman.

One-Eyed, which has set up a production outfit in Sao Paulo to make genre films, is currently developing the first English-language film featuring the character of Coffin Joe, which is tentatively titled THE BITTER GARDEN.

The company is seeking script input via Internet from Coffin Joe avids.

Coffin Joe fans should be prepared for a treat as the gravedigger Zé do Caixão returns to continue his search for the perfect woman to bear his son.

Embodiment of Evil, which is one of the bloodiest and most insane movies ever seen, is already out in Brazil while horror fans are stuck here in the States begging for this gem on DVD.

Four exclusive stills from the film have been released, which has been directed by José Mojica Marins.

I just saw the trailer... and I came a little! This is gonna kick these ass of any stupid ass hollywood horror remake when it's released. Sorry, I just found out that there's a possibility that The Monster Squad is being remade along with about 50 other horror titles, so I'm a little pissed. But, we'll leave that for another topic.

Synapse Films gave Fango the scoop that it has snapped up the U.S. rights to EMBODIMENT OF EVIL, the new adventure of Brazilian horror legend José Mojica Marins, a.k.a. Coffin Joe.

EMBODIMENT OF EVIL’s scenario, written by Marins and Dennison Ramalho, sees the evil Coffin Joe rising from his grave to continue his quest for a woman to bear his child, torturing and killing anyone who stands in his way.

The film has won raves and awards at numerous international festivals, including Montreal’s Fantasia, Spain’s Sitges and others. Synapse will issue the film on DVD and Blu-ray in 2010, with possible theatrical play before that; more details are coming shortly.
