...but I thought I'd share this YouTube weirdness as my first post.

I can't figure out if it's real or a "mockumentary." Anybody know if these guys are for real?

Cheers,

Well, being that you were quite obviously involved in the production, you'd be able to answer the question better than anyone else.

Actually, I'm just an intern at another film company.

Well, at least you're somewhat honest

Well, the blood in several shots is obviously fake, so I'd say there's little chance of this being a real "documentary."

It looks pretty silly to me.

I know this for sure. NONE of the blood is fake.

It was "enhanced" during telecine. How do I know? The film was transferred at Cinepost, where my brother is a colorist.

Again, my boss works with these dudes. I don't.

I just like different stuff -- and this is definitely different. I'm a horror FREAK -- 80% of my dvds are horror -- but I found this to be -- literally -- incredible -- and wanted to share with you.

I'm a waitress -- not a crass commercialist.

Peace

I don't buy it, and here's why.

In your firt post you say:

I can't figure out if it's real or a "mockumentary." Anybody know if these guys are for real?

Then, when I doubt its veracity, you say:

I know this for sure. NONE of the blood is fake... Again, my boss works with these dudes. I don't.

If you knew it was real in the first place, why the pretense of saying you don't know if it's real or not? And why did you say "again" about something you have never said before?

For someone that's not a spammer, you're following the usual spammer script.

So I've neglected to mention the recent viewings of 2 of my favorite movies thus far this year, both of which were underground sleepers if you ask me. Sex and Death 101 which had Wynona Ryder looking hot as ever was a very pleasant suprise. Its a date movie for sure which is why I wasnt expecting much this one was definitely well done. Movie number 2 is The Grand, now if you havent seen this yet, run out and do so immediately as this is by far one of the years funniest if not the funniest movie thus far. I mean this thing is a well oiled machine. Everytime I see it, it makes me want to kill a small animal so that I feel alive...lol gotta see it to get that!!!

not many folks have a problem with pimping being done in these places.

Oi. Ya got me.

I apologize for the subterfuge, but my partner in filmmaking crime and I spent a buttload of money -- and more than two years of our lives -- completing this project.

Getting any kind of distribution deal -- or even representation -- has been more difficult than we ever imagined. I was desperate for the piece to receive some attention -- posted some bullshit -- and got busted. I deserve your scorn.

For what it's worth, the piece is entirely REAL -- as is all of the blood. As stated in my fake "noodles" post, the color of the blood was enhanced during the telecine project, but it certainly was real.

I apologize for having abused your forum.

Sincerely,

Francis Percarpio
Producer
"Rebel Scum"

PS -- Unlike most documentaries, all "B-Roll" for the piece was originated in film. As such, the piece has an organic look that is -- while pleasing to the eye -- sometimes misinterpreted as "fake."

noodles

...but misguided -- with alcohol and drug problems.

Christopher Scum is actually a very talented songwriter.

I should note that we did not seek these guys out. We were in Tennessee filming a band called Dropsonic for their label. They told us before the show about their opening act, but only upon seeing them perform -- and meeting them -- were we certain there was some kind of story there.

There was a story -- but it's not a story everybody wants to hear...
