I still don't get why they needed to remake it??

No, i didn't like it. To me it was just a waste of hollywoods money.

That remake sucked balls.

It had it's moments but was pretty weak. I hated how they used the original dialogue and the "last girl" ending just didn't work for me.
Picked this up for a few bucks awhile back.

Terrible - Sean Bean could have been good in the role but they cut out most of the characters dialogue and interaction with the main character..

I can't comprehend why they did this.

The remake lacked because it tried to hard to be the original and failed misserably. Some of the acting was decent but overall it was horrible.

I expected it to completely suck, so i was pleasantly surprised. i really enjoyed seeing the dipshit boyfriend get ripped in half.

I thought that was the best scene out of the whole movie.

That was one thing the remake had going for it: upping the gore.

Perhaps to hide all its flaws?

Anyone know how much of the script Eric Red wrote? Did they just give him a writing credit because the script was so close to the original?

I agree. At least The Hitcher II had Jake Busey. He may not have been scary, but he entertained me. The remake was a complete waste of the ten dollars I spent to see it.

Exactly how I feel about it... I felt no compulsion to watch it at all.

I felt no complusion to watch it either, and so I didn't. The original is good enough.
