See i liked the hills have eyes 2

its all the wee bits in films that catch my eye, like the weird jizz stuff coming from the head inbreds mouth, stuff like that

although i do think the remake of the first the hills have eyes might be my favourite film ever.

and no thats no a joke:D

Horrible characters, not a single person to relate to or root for. Had the military group instead been a bunch of big, brute fuckers rather than a handfull of angsty teenagers it would have been far more interesting to watch. Still enjoyed the freaks though.

Not very good, but not terrible.

I don't get it.

...

I did not care much for the Hills Have Eyes remake. Then again, I did not expect it to be an exploitation film (I've never seen the original) so

***POSSIBLE SPOILER***

the mutant rape scene just repulsed me and I didn't really see the point.

***/POSSIBLE SPOILER***

I still want to see the original, however, as I understand that it's a fairly iconic and influential film. I realize that it's still exploitative, but at least I'll know that going into it.

As for Hills Have Eyes 2 I honestly went into it ironically and planning on making fun of it the whole time, but I thought it wasn't that bad. I think that as an autonomous film, it was just fine. It's a siege action movie with army guys. And mutants. I thought that it was well directed and the bloody scenes were well done. The acting was pretty bad, but I enjoyed the fact that it was unflinchingly over the top but yet taking itself seriously at the same time. I also enjoyed how ridiculously cliched the main character Napoleon comes into himself to rise as the hero. I guess I like the camp factor of it.

Can't really explain it. Wouldn't necessarily recommend it to my horror-loving friends; Hills Have Eyes 2 is a guilty pleasure for me because I see that it honestly has very little cinematic value.

In the original 1985 version of The Hills Have Eyes 2 there's a scene where... a dog has a flashback.

It was ridiculous and hilarious but oddly enough I still dug the original sequel.

Dug the first one a lot but this sequel sucks. The shouldn't have let Craven have anything to with it and it might've been a better flick... motherfucker hasn't put his name to anything decent for a very long time.

Ok... Now I have to see Hills Have Eyes 2 the original... How can it not rule?!

I found it to be the most insulting and retarded depiction of our fighting men and women ever filmed... yeahm they were National Guard, but EVERY NG member these days expects to be sent off to war at any moment and as such tend to have thier shit together.

These dipshit characters are the most incompetent douchebags ever to strap on a gun which makes the entire film unbelieveable and lame.

in canada we dont have a national guard ... we have some kind of citizens militia where regular joes can join up and pretend they are in the military.

i dont know about the USA but i remember back in highschool - a sizeable percent - probably the majority - of people who got involved were misfit fuckups who joined to belong to something when no one else would have them (and usually for a good damn reason)

sort of like how hitler built up his most loyal followers. and manson ... etc

that being said - i havent seen THHE2 ...havent heard anything good about it.

Hmm. That's weird because

I found the rape scene in The Hills Have Eyes 2 was much more repulsive to watch than the one in the first one.

Very nearly bought theses films today. Only thing was because of a limited bugget I opted for the 5 disc boxset of the omen instead of the 2 remakes for the same price. Also the original was surprisingly highly priced and I couldnt find the original sequal.
Im pretty sure the original would be worth buying but what about the sequal? Since I failed to even locate it, is it worth finding?
How about the remakes? They were fairly priced but am I just going to be disappointed?

I never saw the original Hill Have Eyes movie or it's sequel, though I hope I do some day. THHE remake however I thought was excellent, it's sequel was crap.

I think that the scene in the first movie prepared me for the scene in the second movie... I guess I thought it was inevitable. Testament of how exploitation can desensitize me I guess...
