I would agree that dueling with chainsaws while wearing pig's head is pretty nifty, but I'll still go for TCM 2---though I also dig the end of Last House.
Here's a horror factoid for you: Wes Craven got the idea for the chainsaw in Last House from the movie poster for the Rod Taylor/Jim Brown action flick Dark Of The Sun. It's sorta like The Wild Geese with a chainsaw fight. (And really, what movie couldn't benefit from the addition of a chainsaw duel?)

Yep your totally right every movie would benifit from a chainsaw duel. The one in TCM2 is pretty fuckin cool I love Dennis Hopper in that movie I think its my favorite of the roles he played.

(And really, what movie couldn't benefit from the addition of a chainsaw duel?) actually Craven was wanting to use something like a scapel or some kind of doctors utensil since the father was a doctor.. but noone liked that idea.. that chainsaw scene was fucking awesome...

"You look good enough to eat"

....can't be fucked repeating myself about the dope ass chainsaw fight :)
but yeh great film ranks among my favorite late 70s early 80s US hillbilly orientatated horror flicks along with Tobe Hooper's Eaten Alive, Deranged & Tourist Trap. So many classic moments in Motel Hell!

No, there was a movie with a similar name.... "Motel (something) and it was horrible), almost zero special effects and totally boring.

I hope you're not referring to "Inn Of The Damned". That was weak, retarded shit. No special effects, weak fight scenes.... I'd rather watch the crappy remake of "Psycho" again than to watch that garbage.

It's good to hear many of you love this film. I watched this alongside Deranged and they make one hell of a movie-night duo.
From memory, it often feels like such a short film. But I enjoyed every minute of it. The best part being the hypnosis before breaking their necks where he talks to them about metaphysical out-of-body astral phenomena. :)

I think one of the local video stores has "Motel Hell". If it hasn't been taken off the shelf, I might just rent that one as well and give it a try. :)

I rented this movie not expecting much, but i was surprised at how creepy and flat out good it was, The pig head reminded me of Japanese Film "Gozu". Motel Hell is worth watching.

I might rent that one if it's in. Some of the horror films that don't rent well often end up in the sell section. And looks like I'm working today. I'll at least be able to rent a good 10 movies, not the usual 30 or so. :(

I didn't even see "Motel Hell" on the shelf. I could've sworn they had it before. They either never had it or had it and it was put in the sell collection.

lol Sorry, I missed that post, and I've been extremely busy for the last week. No, it's not a 5 day rental, although they do have it for regularly priced rentals. Most of the movies I rented were crap. I looked for scares and creepiness. Then if the movies are completely void of that, I hit fast-forward to look for gore. If there is little to none, I toss it out. :) Usually, out of the 30 or so movies, I'd come across maybe 3 to 5 that were actually tolerable to decent, and maybe 1 or 2 that were good to great.

Motel Hell creeped me out because of the "garden". Last year, I'm driving down the road to my house and see that someone bought a little piece of lthe hill to plant stuff and sell at a stand. Now everytime I come home I see little rows of things, some covered and I keep thinking people are planted up there with their tongues cut out. Eeeeee. And whodathought Rory Calhoun could be creepy and funny.
