Australia - Attendees of the Hoboken International Film Festival cast their ballots and the results are in: Postal has come out on top.
According to a release from developer, Running With Scissors, Postal was nominated in five categories, with director Uwe Boll scoring Best Director. It then went on to win the Best of Festival Award – a status awarded by the audience.
"When the fans speak, we win," proclaimed RWS honcho and the movie's executive producer, Vince Desi. "We know this from our experience in the game industry and now the film business just confirms it. The continued success of the Postal franchise in all its forms is proof that democracy works; you cannot stop what's in the hearts of the people. Freedom will always triumph over tyranny."
Postal was also nominated for several other awards, including Best Editing, Best Supporting Actor (Dave Foley) and Best Script.
The festival, which ran from May 31 through June 4, with a gala Awards Ceremony on June 5, also honored veteran actor Billy Dee Williams, who received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Could it be that Uwe Boll finally has a winner on his hands?
