Alrighty so I just ordered this movie "The Beyond" online a couple days ago and I cant wait to get it, I'm not sure honestly what it's about but damn it looks good
Has anyone else seen or heard of this movie?

I dig this flick a lot. House By The Cemetery and this one were my introduction to Fulci. There's a whole bunch of over the top gore and it's a fun movie if you switch off and don't take it to seriously.

Few months ago I bought Fulci's THE BEYOND dvd from e-bay and god damn that was edited!! most of the gore scenes were either edited (like the Tarantula scene) or completely deleted (acid bath!) but the edition called "uncut"!!! :(

Ripped off! That sucks dude. The R4 release is uncut and pretty cheap to pick up.

also...I really want to see/get "House By The Cemetery" as well

I actually wasnt too huge a fan of the Beyond. maybe because it was the last Fulci movie i saw, and by then i had pretty much seen it all.
Zombie never gets old though.

Yeah, I wasn't crazy about it either...it was decent, but I think my expectations were a little too high. Nowhere near the same caliber as House by the Cemetery or Zombie.

Zombie's my least favorite of the Fulci flicks I own. That eyeball vs splinter scene is great however.
House By The Cemetery and The New York Ripper are his best work IMO but there's still a shitload of his films I need to track down.

Wow, I'm suprised at the amount of people who are taking House over THe Beyond. The latter is my favourite of all of Fulcis films. I still think there are a few others better than House too (City/Zombi).
Any one see The Naples Connection - great, nasty and sleazy Fulci gangster flick?

Nah I've been holding off getting those and his fantasy/western flicks till I track down a decent copy of Cat In The Brain. Fulci's all about the Ripper to me that flick is twisted genius and I dig House By The Cemetery's doomy creepiness.

Its worth a watch first as unlike fantasy/western flicks it has the nastiness of his horror/exploitation stuff.
I liked Don't Torture the duckling a lot too. I've yet to Lizard in a Woman's Skin.

just saw it a little over a week ago .. loved the music ..
i'm one of the few people who really disliked The Beyond.
had i seent he movie 20 years ago i probably would have really liked it - but by the time i saw it my expectations had been built up and i found it to be a collosal disappointment.
to me - it made no sense... it was just a bunch of set pieces strung together.
i dont care if that was intentional - it just wasnt what i was looking for.
i found it dull and uninteresting - it didnt engage me on any level at all..
that being said - i didnt care for Zombie, either.
it's been a while but i remember liking City of the Living Dead/Gates of Hell.
i'm not much of a Fulci fan .. i can appreciate what he did - or more, what he tried to do - but most of his films just seemed like hack work to me.

Need to grab those ones myself. Although it was a lot tamer I really liked Murder Rock.
Zombie is dull but still a million times better than a lot of people did with zombie flicks post Dawn Of The Dead.
