dont worry kids... this isn't going into any deep places like that last windbag post i made.

but i've been itching to mention this... and i KNOW you all will be excited too.

i didnt deliberately set out to have simple life goals for the purpose of not being disappointed ... it's just the way i am... my needs are fairly small.

I really wanted a family - and i achieved that

i wanted a home theatre since i was 5 - got that a few years back.

I want a library - and it looks like thats going to happen within a couple of months (a lot earlier thn i was hoping for)

I've scuba dived

I saw (and met) Robyn Hitchcock and Nash the Slash

We'll most likely be going to Australia in the winter this year .

but a couple of weeks ago ... another all time life goal was met .. a true milestone and it only took me 47 years to get it.

we at long last ...........have a FRIDGE THAT GIVES CRUSHED/CUBED ICE AND COLD WATER FROM THE OUTSIDE DOOR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh baby ... i'm in heaven. I cant stop using it ... crush the ice, fill it with water ... mmmmmmmmmmmm

and i never waste a single cube.

sometimes - life is damn good.

sure they'll laugh at us .... and let them ...

who'll be laughing when - in the middle of summer - they're running the cold water tap praying for cold water and they get nothing but lukewarm - even after 25 minutes..

sure .. let them laugh

I have an artesian well... always cold. ;)

I remember having a fridge with ice and water, it quickly became a novelty and changing the filter was a pain. I hope you never tire of your icy drink Urge, may it always bring you joy. :)

not a novelty - (newb - hold your ears) - water is all i drink.

i can deal with the filter ... i cant deal with filling up ice cube trays - spashing water all over the floor ... or just plain forgetting to do it.

if i could find a way to have sex with this fridge - i would.

I am also an icewater freak. I keep bottles of ice in the freezer and drink ice water year round.

I trace my love of water as refreshment back to a single incident:

When I was 12 my lung collapsed. (Spray painting in the basement = bad thing to do)

A tube was inserted into my lung to reinflate it slowly. I was not allowed to drink any liquids while this was going on. While I was in the hospital my lung collapsed again. So it had to be reinflated again. This was almost a month where I was not allowed to drink anything.

By the time I was allowed to drink my lips were so caked and cracked it was awful. But let me tell you- that first drink of water I had was the most wonderful liquid substance I've ever had. Wet, cold, refreshing... just amazing.

Water is wonderful.

I'm still working on that one...Going to take me a while longer now...Babies are expensive...I really hope to get started on it next year, tho.

As for the fridge thing...Been there, done that...Maintenance was a bitch...Not worth it to ME, but it's obvious that it means a lot to you...So, I wish you years of trouble-free, icy-cold, fridge operation :)

Those fridges are amazing.

Our fridge is on the way out. If my mom gets a new one I am totally recommending one of these.

I'm not actually joking when I say that is one of mine too! I would LOVE to have an ice machine fridge. My Nan has one and every time we're in an appliance shop I mention it but to no avail so far.

i'm amazed you need ice from anywhere but outside in canada. isnt it just a big glacier?

i am a bottled water freak, pretty much because i am way to lazy pour a glass and fill an ice tray.

That's brilliant, Urge! I soooooo want one of those.

I used to be a bottled water nut, but I've been reading a lot about the toxicity of the plastic water bottles and how tap water (especially purified) is almost always cleaner than bottled water.

I'm on the britta thing now, but I want it cold from the fridge goddammit!

Good point about the bottled water...not many people realize that once a bottle of water heats up the plastic breaks down on a molecular level and you get to DRINK that:D
So filter your tap water and buy a nice recycled aluminum water bottle to cart around town.

And I have the Britta as well and I hate how much I have to pay for filters:mad:
They need to secure that shit:mad:

Urge: congrats baby!!
