i kind of liked The Raw Shark Texts - its weird but cool
if you like horror/scary/adventure - i really like Brian Keene's books
as for non-fiction - i'd go with World War Z by Max Brooks - a good oral history of the long ago zombie wars (i've still got some rotted flesh from that one!)

I think he was just kind of saying- if you're looking for book recommendations, there's a whole forum full of them.
So far in three days, you've gotten three recommendations. A little trip down the forum index to the horror books forum might not be a waste of your time.
