A few years back I hatched a butch of them and posted about it on the off toopic section of a MMA forum.
People got to name them and I posted daily photos of their progress. People got to adopt one and they got emailed a cert to print out. There was even a web cam running on them for a month or so..
One thing is you need to get your kids to be patient as it takes time for them to grow big enoguh to be visable (a few days)..also they prolly won't last too long. Maybe 6 weeks mine did but maybe i did some thing wrong...
Here's 2 pic I found - unfortunally dunno where the Monkey pix are:

Could have bought them cheaper at Toys R Us or many pet stores sell them as fish food...Just in case you want more when those die.
Got some in a microscope kit when I was a kid.

$30?!
I can get them at the local shop for £5! But yeh, patience is needed, and DO NOT do anything to disrupt their live. Add no weed, ad nothing after they've grown. They die. They're fragile. They will kill each other, kill their babies and even kill themselves given half the chance. Let your kids have involvement so they feel a part of it, but nothing unsupervised or they will most likely accidentally kill them. They're not easy and they are living things.
Here are some pictures of what you might end up with, what you're likely to end up with, and just a close picture.
Might

P.S - If possible, that thing that ferox said would be sweet! I'd love to see their progress. You could make a whole thread about it!

Yeah, those brine shrimp are cool, cause I hae a big fish tank, and I used to raise my own brine shrimp but just started buying them from the petshop cause it was easier. Anyways I dunp a few in everyday(unless the ones from the day before are untouched) and let the fish eat them. I don't see them as pets myself, just fish food or a kids science experiment.

I had one of those kits when I was a kid in the 70's. I was lucky, things went well, I thought, and the little guys grew really big, most of them. Lasted a few weeks and then I don't remember what happened to them...but while they were going strong, they looked cool and weird, and I could see their little eyes. Loved those little suckers!

We use dead brine shrimp to feed our fish. Frozen ones.
