Who else loves him, HMM?!?!?
He's great, man.

I'll reserve my judgement of him until I see his next film. The Sixth Sense was cool, I LOVED Unbreakable, but Signs just didn't do it for me.

Really? Signs was my favorite of his 3 films. I really liked The Sixth Sense, and Unbreakable too.
I can't wait for his next film "The Village" to come out.:)

The Village could be cool. I'm looking forward to it as well. I hope it's better than Signs. Signs was good, don't get me wrong. The birthday party scene was jaw-dropping. But the end didn't sit right with me....I mean, WATER!!! They came all this way and have all this advanced technology and they didn't bring some kind of wetsuit?

I think he is over rated, don't get me wrong, I love his stuff and I was blown away by 6th Sense and I liked Signs but I was really hyped for Unbreakable, great cast, interesting preview but I'm sorry, and without giving anything away, I thought the ending blew chunks.

The Sixth Sense had its moments (all the ghost scenes were great) but mostly didn't do it for me.
SPOILER BELOW
Was the fact that Bruce Willis was a ghost supposed to be the big secret? He got SHOT DEAD in the first scene of the film... jeez.
Unbreakable was great, I love the idea of subtle superhero movies. Is it true that there may be a sequel?
Haven't seen Signs yet.
Rumors have it that the Village is Shyamalan's Ishtar.

Agreed. It was a brilliant origin story. There is a huge fan base wanting a sequel, but who knows.
About the Ishtar thing....*shivers*

I just really like him because his movies have surprise endings- mostly for Unbreakable. The Sixth Sense was kind of predictable, Signs wasn't though. The scenes with the aliens were so "spooky". He doesn't do the whole slasher gore teen horror film thing. He does mystery/suspense kind of things. I really like that, because that's what scares me more. Rather than someone's insides becoming their outsides. I can't wait to see The Village, and see what else he comes up with.

i personaly thought all 3 films were very slow moving and boring. I know that i will no longer pay to see his films any longer

I remember what made me like The Sixth Sense: "You wanna see where my Dad keeps his gun?" Creepy.

Unbreakable was my least favorite so far, but it was still excellent.
Plus it had Samuel L jackson
AND Bruce Willis. I am possibly a bigger bruce willis fan then Bruce Willis. Definately more of a fan than Demi. (Fucking whore.....I hope kelso pops one of her tits for Punk'd episode.....)

The Sixth Sense was a VERY good film.
Not seen Unbreakable, but Signs was disgusting. A shambles of a film. Maybe it's just me but what's so clever with the ending, what's the twist? That he regains his faith or what?
It must be so simple that I just don't get how it's a surprise or I'm just an idiot.
And I mean come on. They're weak to water yet they're on a planet of which 90% (or something) of the air is moisture? Ridiculous premise.

This is the #1 complaint about signs. I still think it was a good movie, but that little bit of logic is missing. The conditions that exist on earth that make it livalbe to our type of life is Because of water. There is no concievable way that a life form could develope that could survive our atmosphere if it was not from a "wet planet".
Plus, did they not know it would rain someday? that wouldve fucked up their plans when the entire invading force was wiped out because of a drizzle.
Godammit, you just caused me to rationalize half the enjoyment out of the movie..

Haha, sorry.
Usually I couldn't care less about silly little things like that but on Signs it just seemed to hit me so hard about how stupid it was.

I liked Unbreakable the first time I saw it. I thought it was okay. Then I recently saw it again, and I liked it more. :D

I still need to see Unbreakable...
The Sixth Sense was pretty good.
Signs... well, it started out alright and had some pretty creepy scenes (the birthday party video disturbed me a bit), but it just kept getting worse and worse and ... I HATED the ending, what can I say?
Still, I DO like his directing style.

I read something by Raymond Carver the other day and thought of Shyamalan.
"Any strategy that kept important and necessary information away from the reader in the hope of overcoming him by surprise at the end of the story was cheating."
