Universal will adapt Marc Guggenheim's comic series Resurrection for the big screen, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Guggenheim is a TV-turned-comic-book writer who worked on Law and Order and Eli Stone before turning his hand to stories for the likes of Flash and The Amazing Spider-Man.
His latest effort, Resurrection, begins in the aftermath of an apocalyptic alien invasion and centres on a group of survivors trying to wrestle back control of the planet from evil extra-terrestrials.
The comic, from independent publishers Oni, is illustrated by Dave Dumeer and is now on issue three having debuted last October.
The project is the third movie venture from Oni, with the publishers also producing Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, directed by Edgar Wright and starring Michael Cera, and Leading Man.
