So, haven't made a thread in a while...just chilling tonight/this morning before I get my usual 6-ish hours sleep before work, and just burned some sweet smelling cheeba I picked up a couple days ago.
Fairly light/fluffy so it looked HUGE in the bag, well it looked a good deal bigger'n the ounce it was.
So yeah I know it's a topic that's been visited here before, and I know there's people both for and against, but every now and then I think it makes for an alright discussion, among those that indulge (and surprisingly enough) on occasion, those that don't.

So, anyone like the stuff?
Got a habit, or just an occasional indulgence?
Perhaps those that aren't into it can give their take on the matter as well?
Preferred methods/devices?
Uh, breeds even?

I've currently got a large chambered blue ceramic bong made sometime in the 70's (ha, my dad gave me his...antique...) that's even got the older style longer, narrower conepiece that you never see much anymore.
I also have a hoteplate/bubble style vapouriser which works great, but it takes a while to do its thing and isn't all that well made or user friendly.
The vapouriser is, however my preferred method by far, the taste is nicer, when you get it going on accurately there's less wastage, and yes, I will confirm the rumour that vapourisation gives you a better hit - it takes longer to kick in (not much) but yes, when it hits you it's stronger and longer lasting.

Preferred breed would be bubblegum, some of the tastiest, toastiest weed I've ever tried and I'd love to get some more (we don't have a large amount of "designer" varieties available here, just standard hydro red shit, yknow?) someday if I come across it, felt like dreaming, honestly, this stuff was awesome - One I tried called mango was exceptionally tasty as well, more mellow stuff though.
Other than, I have no real preferences at all, sure, hydroponically grown stuff is stronger, but I enjoy naturally grown just as much - different kind of deal, different kind've feel to it.

So yeah, this year my gf is getting into some hydroponics and airponics projects of her own, we're actually giving a go at a marketable design of our own too, further down the line.
I've got some shiva x super skunk seeds, and some 1st gen seeds from a really nice strong bunch of stuff I got a while back that I might be experimenting with for personal/friend supplies, and well to see how well our systems are working too.

Also, I'd really like me one of these
http://www.storz-bickel.com/vaporiser/vaporiser.html
because I hear they're the shit - easy to use, best concentration ratio, permanently stable temperature, good tech support, and supposedly the least wastage of any system.
Personally I love the vapo thing, so to make it easy and automatic would be great, as well as being able to ditch the smoke thing as well.

Hm...ok, so, I seem to have typed a bit there.
Anyone feel free to jump in....

i never tried a vaporizer before, how does it waste the weed?

i do the old fashion way, rolled into a joint...or ift a lot of people the blunt.
i dont own any pipes or bongs anymore, i felt like it was too much to have laying around the house...once when i was in high school i built the gravity bong and used that for a while...

i like the skunk weed, like im about to roll right now...:D
if i had a choice i would always get the good stuff, but i dont so i get what they have. sometimes its dry and shitty, sometimes its great...whoa, a breeze just carried the smell past my nose....i think its calling me..

how does it waste the weed?
Every smoking device actually wastes a large amount of the "active ingredients/thc" through simply burning it as a lot of the product perishes in fire, as well as some solid waste eg, any solids that fall through.
Vapourisation allows for more of the thc to actually make its way to you, to get a similar effect - As this is the case, and the product is used in all but the solid matter (eg - you've got all the good stuff, like say, a teabag that's been used?), you end up using less to get more of an effect.
Of course the only way to prove this is to experience it - I always found it hard to imagine there was something better, but yeah, it's WAY better.
So yeah, the better vapourisers just use better technology when it comes to temperature control, and retain the optimal temperature at which thc particles become air/steam borne.

I also lean towards it for obvious health reasons - inhaling weed is no longer carcinogenic...pretty much all of the bad stuff stays in the solid "husk".

once when i was in high school i built the gravity bong and used that for a while...

I think that's what we call a bucket bong here...yeah, if you want a crazy hit, crazy fast...but it rips the shit outta your lungs.

I love the stuff, but rarely do it anymore. As I age I get more of a stone-over in the morning, and I do most of my writing in the morning. Can't let ANYTHING get in the way of the work.

But when I'm really stressed out, it's the best medicine. And I love watching movies a little stoned, it helps me turn off the writer mind and allow myself to be fully immersed in the story and characters.

Every once in a while, when I'm really stuck for ideas, I'll smoke a ton and get baked then have the wife bounce stupid questions off me until the tangential stoner mind comes up with something brilliant...

this must of course be written down immediately before the next flood of random ideas comes and obliterates the original thought - not something I do every day, as it breeds laziness (both mental and physical) but once in a while it can be a very effective tool for unlocking creativity.

And since I quit smoking (cigarettes & cigars) a couple of years ago I rather enjoy the smoking aspect of the drug even more. It feels social and tribal in a way that I didn't think about when I smoked other products as well.

I used to smoke a lot but I haven't in over a year now. It's still around me at least once a week I just don't bother with it anymore. I'm WAY too paranoid for it. If I ever thought too much about it when I was stoned I'd always think I was going to die and swear it off (until the next weekend of course).

I love getting high. But I'm more of an active smoker.I like to be up moving around doing something when I'm high,I feel more motivated to do things.

As far as the best weed I ever had was this stuff called The Walking J.Only had it about twice but it was the best you could get around here.

seems like everyone smokes here in L.A. - it's kind of weird.

it certainly isn't frowned upon, not even by the cops. Posession is nothing, as long as you aren't caught in the act of buying or selling (or have too much on you) you're golden. You're even allowed to have 3 plants for individual use.

It's decriminalised in some parts of Australia meaning you can have a few plants..

here in the Scotland the only way you could really grow good shit is by hydroponics because it rains all year round..

I hopefully won't have to wait much longer for a hook up, I do like a doob, but I'm not sure of the laws over hear, though, I've had my hands in the pot plenty of times and they have never gotten dirty.

damn, I hate talking about it, it just makes me really miss it..

I've been a daily herb smoker for 15 years. I write my best drum beats when lit, always have. It hasn't killed my ambition or career.

These two quotes represent my pot usage pretty well.

It it really doesn't do anything positive for me... like I get light headed and super hungry then I fall asleep. WOW what a great feeling... I'd rather drink, I usually only smoke pot now when I'm drunk.

and potheads are like the lamest people to hang around with in the entire world.

you have to cook the weed into the butter (low temp) so the oils meld together then add to your flour/brownie mix when you would normally add the butter

I never understood why someone wouldn't just smoke the weed and eat brownies.

Pot brownies taste bad

Just get a good recipe for brownies, full stop.

Instead of butter, grind about an ounce (for a large supply, more'n the brownies) of bud with some leaf really fine into flour - you can add a little salt as an abrasive to grind it down better.
Retain about 1/8 of this "flour" you make to add to the brownies directly as a flour equivalent/additional, and throw the rest into about 4 cups of pre-boiled water. Add a standard stick of butter and cook until melted. Simmer some more after that, around 20 minutes while stirring intermittantly.
Put through a strainer and cool the mixture in the fridge.
The THC content which should now have come into suspension in the butter - will rise to the top and reharden.
You can blend it up again when you remove it from the water (throw the water out, it's useless) to make it into a nice shape again, or just keep the "chunks".
I'd reccomend the blending them though, as it also helps with the texture/spreadability of the product.
Keep the butter as you would any dairy product.
Now, as I said, this'll probably be more than you "need" for the brownies - just add the equivalent amounts to regular butter and a tbsp if you wanna get HIT somethin' crazylike.
Like I said, use in this manner with the brownies, then add the additional "flour" to your existing recipe - throw in an egg yolk if it's too dry a consistancy.
Then cook 'em as you like 'em - no special trick to it.

The leftover butter (and you should probably still be rockin' at least a third of that badboy) which is btw a funky light green colour, can be spread on toast lightly for a mild bodystone, or used in sauces, pastas, fuckin' anything you'd add butter to really, for similar effect.
There is no overpowering taste, an should not effect anything you make in a negative way - of course if some clown just thrown chopped up bud into them like some people seem to try, your brownies will naturally taste rather shitty - it's not a very paletable substance.

Recommendation - Wait about 20 minutes before you make any judgements that you should eat more because "it's not working". Trust me.
Know what you're dealing with to better gauge additional use in food too.
I'd advise making sure you have the next day free in case you overdo it though, as many will for the aforementioned reasons.

Also, I guess where I fall in would be "regular user".
Not extensively though, I'd just use it as a preferred substance to drinking - I prefer the physical and mental effects it has on me.
Although I intend to remove the smoking part of the weed thing completely out of the equation as soon as supplys and equipment allows.

and potheads are like the lamest people to hang around with in the entire world.
Agreed.
