So here's the new NBC/Newscorp video sharing site. It has full broadcasts of NBC/TimeWarner material complete with commercials...so there is an actual revenue strain from commercial sponsers.
It's a way to make money off the youtube model and one of the primary points the WGA is fighting over. The producers make money off the add sales, but the writers recieve no compensation for their work being profitably distributed.
While Hulu remains locked to uninvited guests, the web intelligentsia has found a backdoor in.
Check it out. It's a pretty great site - I hope the moneys get properly distributed and shared amongst the creators.
Just change the number at the end of this URL to any value between 1 and 1801:

For instance:
http://www.hulu.com/embed/1501 brings up an SNL sketch "MacGruber" that's pretty damned funny

The MacGruber sketch is one of the funniest they have done in a long time.
That and the Digital Shorts are the only reason I watch SNL.

Does anybody else check out www.hulu.com ?
They have some free movies, some tv shows (full episodes of the Swamp Thing show woohoo), and some good trailers. I didn't think the site would be that great when I had first heard about it but I kind of dig it.

Swamp Thing?? I've never heard of the site, but I will check it out just for those I remember I enjoyed that show quite a bit. Of course, that's been awhile ago. I might not be as fond of it as I once was. :p Thanks for the link.

It's not exactly the upcoming The First Avenger: Captain America; rather, 1990's horribly cheesy Captain America, starring Matt Salinger in the title role and directed by Albert Pyun.
The movie never saw a theatrical release in the U.S. but did find life on VHS. The movie still has no DVD release, but comic book fans in the U.S. can watch the entire movie courtesy of Hulu and see what director Joe Johnston shouldn't do with First Avenger: Captain America.

Grab a couple sodas and some popcorn. Happy viewing!
(NB - The movie is for US residents only)

This is Albert Pyun. Yes, I'm the visionary cheesemaker who coughed up the Captain America movie now playing in all its horrid and cheesy glory on Hulu.com.
And, yes, Joe Johnston is going to have to work mighty hard with his First Avenger movie to come even close to my Captain America movie as is clearly evident if you've seen the movie on Hulu.com.
The real question is how the heck did I achieve the mess that is my Captain America movie. Hmmm...what was going thru my mind, eh?

I've been wanting to check out Bloodmatch again but haven't run into a tape over here since it came out. I'll have to have a look for Captain America too because I'll probably dig it.

Albert, give me some stuff left from the old Cap film, ok?
Also, I don't know what "bulletface" is, but it's a funny title...like a guy, who gets shot in the face all the time.

I think all I have left from Captain America is the 35mm print and 35mm fullcoat sound of my director's cut. And maybe Matt's ears. Some production stills possibly.
Bulletface is sorta like that except it's a woman not a man who gets face shot. The film is like a cross between Traffic and 28 Weeks Later.

The tale of a blind swordsman with amazing moves and a penchant for gambling certainly has no shortage of material for the dedicated fan: it spawned twenty-seven films and a one hundred and twelve-episode TV series.
Zatoichi is remarkable for many reasons, but primarily because actor Shintaro Katsu played the character in every screen appearance but one.
Now, thanks to a deal between Criterion and Hulu, you can watch six of the films, the first chapters in the long series, for free. This looks to be the first of a series of Hulu offerings from Criterion, and it’s a great start.
Hulu is streaming the first six films in the series, beginning with the black and white films The Tale of Zatoichi and The Tale of Zatoichi Continues, and then moving on to the first four color films featuring the character.
The best-looking one in this batch may be the sixth film, Zatoichi and the Chest of Gold, which boasts really eye-catching super-saturated color, some great sets and staging, and a beautiful fight sequence set amid a set of paper lanterns.
The Zatoichi movies were generally formulaic, and featured the blind masseur traveling from town to town, where he is often recognized as the famed swordsman Zatoichi and recruited to defend innocents against injustice or battle greedy gangs. But within that formula was a huge playground for Katsu to create various sides of Zatoichi’s persona and explore many different tales of revenge, crime, honor and family. One film unites Zatoichi with Toshiro Mifune, playing a riff on his Yojimbo character; sadly it isn’t one of the series’ best offerings.
The series has left a significant mark on other filmmakers. Among the most obvious references include Robert Rodriguez nodding to it in Once Upon a Time in Mexico, and a recent big studio movie that definitely took inspiration from the movies as well.
Oh, and that one Zatoichi appearance that doesn’t feature Shintaro Katsu? That’s Takeshi Kitano’s 2003 film, where he revived the character at the behest of one of Katsu’s closest friends. The film is fantastic — it is to samurai movies what Death Proof is to Grindhouse films — and a very worthy successor to Katsu’s collection.

Nope - trust me, I've tried on MANY occasions. If you're not in the ol' US-of-A, you're pretty much shit out of luck for Hulu. I hate that site for exactly that reason.

I use this site for most of my asian horror. They are mostly good quality but there are some bad ones. Not sure if they found a new upload for Battle Royale 2, but the one i watched on there was horrible quality. Also, most of them are megaupload links which blows because you can usually watch al but the last 10 minutes of a movie, then have to wait an hour before seeing the rest. Howeer, I heard if you let it buffer fully, then putting your browser in offline mode you can watch the whole thing. remains untested.

I use hulu every now and then and I've never really been unhappy with it.
Here (http://www.ideas2o.com/web/watch-your-favorite-tv-shows-on-hulu-outside-usa-for-free) are some ways to get hulu outside of the US. I haven't tried them obviously but they look ok.
@missmacabre, you can't get by mega video's limit in offline mode, at least I never could. If you have firefox, there is a plugin called illimitux (www.illimitux.net) it works most of the time depending on which build of the plugin you are using.

Would using a US based proxy server work?
Do these sites actually own the copyright to the material they show or are pirate stations?

Hulu.com is now hosting twenty-three of Troma Entertainment's finest films online for all to enjoy. And by all, I mean people who have an IP address originating from the United States.
Now I realize that not everyone considers classic Troma films to be a "treasure trove", but for those of us who have a soft spot for Lloyd Kaufman and the special brand of crazy, low-budget films his company has made in the last three decades, this is indeed a bounty.
Check out the lineup of all films below. Or head straight to Hulu's Troma page.
Blood Sucking Freaks
Cannibal! The Musical
Chosen One
Citizen Toxie
Class of Nuke 'Em High
Def by Temptation
Killer Condom
Mother's Day
NightBeast
Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell
Pot Zombies
Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead
