We were talking about this in class today. What do you think are the worst diseases/viruses you can get?
I'll have to go with:
-Aids
-Herpes (I know it isn't fatal or anything, but still. It's a horrible thought)
-The Flesh Eating Virus
Thoughts?

Herpes would be one. Cold Sores are a strain of herpes.

I just think it's disgusting. If it was curable I wouldn't be so worried, but it's just a bunch of disgusting sores and they never really go away, for the rest of your life.

Any kind of hemorrhagic fever like ebola or dengue freaks me out. The idea of your internal organs liquifying make me shiver.

Definatley in agreement on the hemorragic fevers. But lets not forget these fun little ones:
Hanta Virus: suffocate as your lungs fill with fluid
Cholera: literally shit yourself to death.
BSE: Means "Bovine Spongiform Encephalophagy", better known as Mad Cow disease. You get progressively worse as the prion that causes the disease turns your brain into swiss cheese. note the "Spongiform" in the name, the brain tissue developes holes throughout it and literally becomes spongey.
AIDS is bad because it turns a sniffle into a death sentance.
Aint the world a grand place?
lets not get into poisonous animals, that opens a whole new can of worms

When I was still living at home, in Georgia, my dad found one in our garage. That really freaked me out, as I had heard some horror stories like that one.

MRSA = The flesh eating bacteria. You've got it on your skin all of the time, however should you get an open wound and an active strain. Ooops. This is why you should keep yourselves clean; wash your hands and bathe on a regular basis.
Ultimately, we, those of us in first world countries, particularly the US ar screwed because we've been vaccinated, innoculated, force fed pills since childhood, so when that disease does come a long, be it bacterial or viral, we're screwed. That's why the fucking flu is so fucking virulent. We're resistant to the goddamn shots.
That reminds me. None of you are afraid of the flu. You should be. You should be deathly afraid of the flu. Think of how miserable you are when you've got the flu. Now consider the fact that you figure you're going to survive, but this particular strain, you just don't. This isn't The Stand. This is one season of viral mutation. Swine flu... Bird... take your pick.
