i found this thread buried in the general forums and thought it might be fun to try and resurrect it. i'm sure most of you will remember this. here are the rules (i'm altering it slightly):
choose a forum member
write six (6) questions for him/her to answer (try to keep them pretty general)
post both the member's name and questions and that person will answer
if that person doesn't want to participate, or just doesn't answer the questions (after a couple of days or so), choose another person.
the person that just answered the questions gets to take the next turn asking questions
so here goes the first one:
alkytrio666
what's the best job you've ever had and why?
what was the first horror film you remember seeing and what were your first impressions?
who do you admire most (living or dead) in the world and why?
what is your morning routine?
who is your favorite villain of all time?
do you play any musical instrument(s)? if so, do you write your own material?

what's the best job you've ever had and why?
Well, I've only had a few, being a young'un. However, before coming to college, I was a delivery boy for a hot dog joint called Kojak's, and that was really nice. I got free, greasy-ass food whenever I please, and my pay was all under the table, no taxes. I would work five hours a night and go home with around $120, cash. Plus, I got to drive around all the time and listen to music. Loud. It was a blast.
what was the first horror film you remember seeing and what were your first impressions?
I have very vivid memories of watching The Bride of Frankenstein with my mom one afternoon when I was probably 7 or so. I just remember being so wholly absorbed by what was happening on screen, and was given a handful of emotions to cope with- fear, sorrow, joy, pity. It really had a profound impact on me. My mom doesn't remember watching the film st all. Too bad...
who do you admire most (living or dead) in the world and why?
This will sound cliche, but I find my own dad to be the most patient, dedicated, happy-go-lucky person I've ever met, and I find myself daily shaping my attitude to try to match his lifestyle. Though his interests are completely opposite mine, he has always been respectful and supportive of everything anyone in my family has felt or wanted, no matter how rediculous.
I also look up to Martin Scorsese, Alfred Hitchcock, Sergio Leone, and Billy Wilder. :)
what is your morning routine?
I get up at 8:15 (quietly so as not to wake my roomate). I shower (steaming hot and usually longer than I intend) and throw on a Beatles T and some jeans. I head over to our cafeteria at about 9:00, and then to my European Cinema class at 9:30. Not today, though, 'cause classes got cancelled due to snow!
who is your favorite villain of all time?
Hmmm, that's a tough one. I'd say Max Cady (the original, played by Robert Mitchum) in Cape Fear. Though it isn't even remotely near the front og my favorite movies list, the story of Cady is just so brutal and terrifying, and so goddamn believable. To me, Robert Mitchum is the greatest villian actor of all time because every performance was so naturally chilling, and so intricately human. His role in Night of the Hunter is close behind.
do you play any musical instrument(s)? if so, do you write your own material?
Ehhh...I played the trumpet in Jr. High, but it never clicked. I took up the guitar in High School, and still play it from time to time, but never got to the point where I was writing my own stuff. I would mostly learn songs from The Beatles, Stones, Steppenwolf, etc. and work on those until I was a pretty good copycat, nothing more.
Thanks for the questions, Fortunato!

*What do you do for a living? Do you enjoy it? If not, what would you be doing in a perfect world?
- I am a Financial and Insurance consultant with my own office, with a staff of 5. I help people with their investments in insurance schemes, stocks and shares and generally deal with insurance companies, financial institutions, banks, stock markets, The Wall Street journos etc. It’s a very demanding job but pays like a king. I am not complaining as long as I get enough time to pursue the smaller pleasures of life like spending quality time with my family, watching movies and partying in the weekends with friends.
If I was in a perfect world, I would be surrounded with the people I love and cherish the most and become a movie director. I have great admiration for Hitchcock, Kurosawa, Bergman, Cronenberg, Lynch, Scott, Stone…and have been awe-struck about their vision while taking charge of things behind a camera. I would watch Sanjuro or Rashomon or Vertigo or Platoon, and wondered about the time spent in shooting them, and how meticulous each visionary is about their visions, discussions with script-writers and actors, weighing each frame in the mind, proceeding forward with the most impactful choice…oh yes, it would have been great to be a movie director.
*What is your ultimate guilty pleasure movie? Why?
- MacKenna's Gold. I know it doesnt rate very high on anybody's lists, but I love it. I might have seen it around 70-75 times and everytime it has entertained me to the full. With a solid star-cast of my favorite actors - Gregory Peck, Omar Sharif, Telly Savalas...and some awesome cinematography and camera sequences (especially the ones mounted on the horses)...I just love it!
*If they're aware it exists, what do family members think of HDC?
- My mother and wife both know about HDC. Dani knows a bit about Rayne, Alky, Newb, Urge too (from what I told her...and no worries it was all positive!:D ).
She isnt an ardent fan of horror, but she watches em with me. Can you believe she took Evil Dead and The Exorcist bravely in her strides but was absolutely terrified of The Grudge? I asked her to watch the Jap original, Ju-On, and she would have none of it. She caught a glimpse of Saw too and declared she would never, ever see it. She's more into action/adventure type stuff. (Psst...last night she watched the jap The Eye with me and was scared stiff most of the time!)
*What movie are you looking forward to the most in 2008? Why?
- Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Harrison Ford may have aged but he still packs a punch. And Indy's whip will flash across the screens once again!
Also looking forward to Nolan's The Dark Knight, On the horror front, the sequels to Feast and Midnight Meat Train, which looks very promising.
*What is the best thing you've ever done for someone? Why?
- A close friend of mine went bankrupt last year. He was an investor in shares and took some really wrong decisions against the tide, and lost everything. He had a big family to support and became very depressed. I took his family in and kept em, found em a new house and gifted it to him, and gave him enough credit to get his ball rolling again. Today he's back in the flow, and is financially secure again, following my advice and tips about savings and investments. Thinking back...I am totally satisfied for what I did for them.:)
*What will you do in the next year that you've never done before?
- Wellllllll...I honestly have no idea. Life is so busy for me that I never make a schedule for the whole year. I take each day as it comes in the Urban Jungle, but if I get the chance I might visit Switzerland and Venice during the summer holidays. I have heard so much about the beauty of Switzerland (and Swiss chocolates!), and Venice with its canals and thought-provoking beauty...those would be on top of my priority list of vacations.
For Newb -
1 - What do you do for a living and how is your daily routine? Are you satisfied by what you are today?
2 - If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be and why?
3 - Whats your take on the genre as it stands today? Is there scope for improvement, or have we lost it?
4 - Who is the best online friend you have ever met? And why?
5 - Do you get nostalgic? Are you a brooding and deep-thinking person?
6 - What does your wife have to say about HDC? Does she approve it, and us?;)
1 - What do you do for a living and how is your daily routine? Are you satisfied by what you are today?
I'm a shipping mgr. for a manufacturing co. here in little Rhode Island [yawn]....yeah not the most exciting job, but it pays
the bills. I'm pretty satisfied....I guess...I mean I would much rather had that "beer tasting" job at the local brewery..but they said I was "over"
qualified.
2 - If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be and why?
I think if we could eliminate GREED.....everything else would just fall into place.
3 - Whats your take on the genre as it stands today? Is there scope for improvement, or have we lost it?
Every genre has its low spots. Horror just happens to be in this "remake" hell at the moment. But there are some innovative
up & comers coming into play. I think its going to get pretty exciting in the near future....especially with people like......[shit whats his name...Sam...no...Sean Killer..wait..Keller...thats it]
writing scripts.
4 - Who is the best online friend you have ever met? And why?
I have quite a few, what I would consider friends, online...yourself included.Guys [ and girls] I wouldn't mind sitting around with, discussing horror movies
and knocking back a few brews [hmmm....I do that now].Urgeok and myself hit it off pretty good....even sending each other movies and what-not. I don't talk
to him as often, since he "jumped ship". [ the other forum is nice...just not very active]
5 - Do you get nostalgic? Are you a brooding and deep-thinking person?
It seems the older I get [ yeah..I know...I'm fucking old] the more nostalgic i'm getting. I find myself watching more older movies or I'll put on an episode of an
old TV show [ i.e.. Get Smart, Wild Wild West,]. Brooding and deep thinking.......not at all.
6 - What does your wife have to say about HDC? Does she approve it, and us?
She knows about HDC......but not being into horror movies, could care less. Now if I was on a "Reality TV Forum" she would join in a heartbeat.

Well, I guess I will then.
1. How was your childhood?
My childhood was allright, I never really had many friends because I grew up in a hicktown where there weren't many people close by, and the one guy that did live close by decided to throw a snowball with a rock inside of it at my face. So after having to go to hospital, and getting a small amount of plastic surgery, my parents forbid me from going back there, and I didnt really like to either. So I pretty much dove into alot of books, and video games, and horror movies.
2. Where do you see yourself at 40?
Old
3.Who do you look up to?
My cousin Peter, who died about a year and a half ago. He was the kind of guy that everybody loved. He never said a bad thing about anybody, and no matter how annoying I was as a kid, he never got mad at me, or made fun of me....or handcuffed and hogtied me and left me in the basement with loud music blaring so that my aunt couldn't hear me screaming for help(like his brothers). It hit me really hard when he died.

What are they
I like that I'm both "new" AND "exciting"... I'm sure that the latter compliment will most likely be removed once going through this long, draw-out answer (give a girl a soapbox........)
1. Wow. And that was supposed to be "nothing heavy"?! My childhood... My dad read me the poems and short stories of Edgar Allan Poe as bedtime stories... I remember that in third grade I had memorized "The Raven" in its entirety but my third grade teacher wouldn't let me recite it to the class because it was "too mature."
Even though I'm a GIRL I always identified with boy characters in movies, books, television, etc. because they were so much better written and believable as interesting and strong characters. I personally idolized Robin Hood (the cartoon FOX, mind you, from the Disney channel), so whenever I played make-believe, I was HIM, bowing to the girls in my kindergarden class and saying, "Milady."
This gender confusion would manifest in my writings and especially later on in college.
I loved the movie "Little Shop of Horrors" and would sing the Dentist song while waiting for the bus or my parents to pick me up.
I'm an only child, so I was always independent. While the girls played House on the playground, I wrestled with the boys and got in trouble and had to STAND AGAINST THE WALL (horrible horrible punishment).
I was a goody-goody with good grades, lots of friends, but ultimately felt as though I was on the outside looking in.
From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were---I have not seen
As others saw---I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
- Poe, "Alone"
My best friends were the spawn of my parent's best friends... But they lived in upstate NY and I lived outside of Boston, so I only saw them a few times a year... But we had a GREAT time when we did... From building fairy/elf houses to forts in their backyard to building sheet forts in their bedroom (sheet forts are the BEST btw). We would camp outside and my dad would read us "The Black Cat."
I was fascinated by the dead animals that my cat would leave on the doorstep, and saddened when I once caught a salamander and it died that afternoon. Salamanders were tragically fragile creatures.
I had lots of friends, but I would blow them off... I liked running around my backyard, lying on the grass, and maybe reading or just fantasizing about being a little hero, like Robin Hood.
2. Dead.
...
Ok. Maybe not.
For the longest time I was honestly convinced that life will be over at 30, but now that I'm nearing 26 I realize that I can actually CREATE my life instead of just fearing getting old (I know that sounds cheesy, but it was actually a relatively NEW realization).
OR another reverie I had of my future self was to be a single mom. Seriously. I generally DESPISE people (ok, that's an overstatement), but I really liked the idea of taking everything I had and just... creating and growing another human being (someone that I would naturally birth and perhaps someone I would adopt). I couldn't imagine myself actually finding someone I would LOVE long-term (because I just don't like people), but I knew that I could LOVE a child.
WOW, Chrono is getting personal...
But this is an interesting question... Where I'd LIKE to see myself at 40... Incredibly well off and developed into my career. Maybe married (because I am absolutely CRAZY about the guy that I'm dating - weird thing, that... I never thought that I'd find someone who would actually interest me for more than a couple of months)... Maybe with SPAWN... I don't know. I honestly need to start writing because I honestly do believe that I could be a writer if I got my act together... It's just that... Life gets in the way sometimes (ANOTHER cliche - oh boy).
Edit: If I wind up with my current boyfriend, I'd like a house and a Pug. Little tan puggy with a black face.
If I do NOT wind up with my current boyfriend, then I will have a KITTY (he is deathly allergic to cats, so we can't get one). Then maybe I'll turn into a crazy cat lady. That would RULE.
3. I look up to my Dad. Hands down. He was the kindest, most genuine person that I know... He passed away in 2002 when I was 20, which was absolutely heartbroken... And now, as I grow up I really wish that he could see all that I have accomplished.
Favorite anecdote about my dad (which shows how amazing he was): When he was out of college and working as a Social Worker. One of his clients was so poor that they couldn't afford a bed; I guess they were sleeping on the floor. So my dad called his parents and asked if he could give his old bed to his client.
When I heard this story, I teared up. I know it's cliche to say that you look up to your parents, but he was a genuine caring and interesting person. He introduced me to sci-fi when I was younger and encouraged me to read and write. He called me "Buddy," and my favorite compliment from him: "You're neat, kid."
4. Nachos. Nachos and beer. Hands down. Grate the monterary jack cheese, throw it on the Tostidos, and pop in the microwave. If you have jalopenos, chili, meat, etc., throw them on there too. Combine salsa, sour cream, and tabasco sauce as your dip and you have a combination made in heaven. The beer is usually Sam Adams, or if I feel like splurging, Berkshire Brewing Company. Mmmmmmmm... That's the good stuff.
5. As long as these "wishes" do not have any sort of dire consequences (BOY do I fear the Monkey's Paw), they will most likely be as follows (though subject to change I'm sure depending mood, time, etc:
For my mom to be rich and happy. She's currently job-searching and has a lot of expensive tastes. I'd get her a condo in Boston with enough money to go out and experience plays and delicious food. Oh, and to travel the world. After my dad's death she just hasn't... been ok... And there's only so much I can do for her (she has REJECTED my offer to pay for a Match.com or eHarmony account, so I've decided to spill $700 on a pure breed Maine Coon. Who said that money can't buy you companionship?!).
Ditto #1 for my boyfriend's family. They've had a rough life and, well, I AM SICK OF HEARING ABOUT IT - GET OVER YOURSELVES. Maybe a spot of $$$ and happiness would shut them up... WOW I am a good person.
As for me - I think that I would wish to be a powerful and influencial person in Hollywood. That would make me rich AND give me a say as to what movies get released. I've always wanted to open a Script Consulting Company, you know, so that I could say, "YOU WANT DO DO WHAT? That's a RETARDED idea." It's all for the greater good, you know. Encourage intellectualism and the whatnot. (then again, I was once asked if I had the option to be rich and famous OR be able to kill 1 person without any sort of consequence, I picked the latter, so this last wish might change depending on whether or not I've had my morning cup of coffee).
...
Would I have to wish to get OFF the island? SEE?! THERE'S THE MONKEY'S PAW!
6. Dude - SIX QUESTIONS?! Ok. It's been a while since I have revisited this hypothetical, so let's see...
Book - Physician’s Desk Reference… hollowed out. Inside: Waterproof matches, iodine tables, beet seeds, protein bars, NASA blanket and, in case I get bored, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. No – Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Question: did my shoes come off in the plane crash?
...
Ok, that was an Office reference for those of you who don't the American version.
DVD - Something to watch over and over again while stranded on an ISLAND: Well, I think that LOST would really be the best choice here. Kate would keep me company. And, hey, SURVIVAL SKILLS... riiiiiiiiiight
CD - All I would need is ONE song: "We gotta get out of this Place" by the Animals. Yeah. That's right.
.............
OMG. As much as I simply ADORE the sound of my own fingers clicking on the keyboard, I feel as though this entry has been very LONG and SOMBER. I apologize for the dip in mood (and will happily hand out handguns for anyone who wants to shoot themselves).

1: If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?
- I'm not sure. If you change one thing it can drastically alter what it was supposed to be. (Which isn't very good anyway)
I know. I'd get rid of all generalizations and hollywood prototype models.
2: A: Whats your job? -Currently just a high school student
B: Whats your IDEAL job? - I'd love to be a professional assassin
3: What celebrity would you like to have a crazy night of sex with?
-Rose Mcgowan
-Rachel Mcadams
4: What is your favorite food?
-Baked Ziti
5: If you could, what one movie would you erase from history forever? And why?
- Napoleon Dynamite.
Nuff said.
6: How much wood could a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
You're fuckin mother.

(1) What is your worst fear? What about it haunts you? How did you develop it?
(2) If you could have only one item to your name, what would it be and why?
(3) What celebrity, star, director, singer, etc. would you meet, if you could only meet one in your lifetime?
(4) What are 5 of your favorite life memories?
(5) What is your favorite movie of all time?
(6) What would you change your name to if it could be anything?
1. I'm not actually sure what my worst fear is, but I'd have to say being separated from all of my friends and family. I value pretty much any friendship I establish. I've never been in a place for an extended period of time in which people weren't near, so thinking about not having anyone I could talk to or just relax with freaks me out.
2. If I had to choose one item to have to my name, I would go with the obvious answer of a house. I can do without most everything else. A shelter would suffice for me.
3. If I could meet any celebrity, I would choose Kevin Smith. He and I have a similar sense of humor (but he's a lot funnier than me). But I would enjoy being able to hang out with Kevin. But if I could choose a dead celebrity, I would choose Kurt Cobain.
4. Five of my favorite memories. Well, three of them would be the weekends of the plays at school, there's never really that much for the Tech Crew to do, so we get to sit in the loft for 2 hours and just chat about movies and do whatever. Plus the after-parties. I'll try being more specific with the other two. I feel odd for putting this one on here because so many people have done this but it hasn't effected them as it did me, the first time I listened to Nirvana's "Nevermind" I felt a certain sincerity listening to it, I changed after that, I thought that in high school everyone was tainted, but then I realized this recording, even though it was upwards of 10 years old at the time, could feel so honest. The final one would have to be one from this school year, it sounds entirely stupid, but it made me happy. There is this girl at my school, it's her first year, the first time I spoked to her, something caught me, her eyes. Just looking into them and seeing the innocence and purity in a crowd of people I thought had long since forgotten those days. That moment seemed perfect.
5. My favorite movie of all-time changes a lot, at the moment it's No Country For Old Men. But more often than not, it's Clerks.
6.If I could change my name to anything I wanted, I would choose Dennis, my original name before my grandmother decided to name me after my piece-of-shit uncle.
I've got homework to do right now, so I'll post questions for somebody else tomorrow or after I'm done. My apologies for not being able to put up a new set of questions right away.

1. Probably the BAFTA's because as well as famous Americans, there are also a lot of famous english people there, so there would be a few more that I know. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Academy_of_Film_and_Television_Arts
2. This is difficult but I think I'd have to say Michael Crichton because I thought he adapted his book (Jurassic Park) beautifully into the screenplay when often, the films aren't as goo as the book. I loved the script and can barely find a fault. Of course, David Koepp did contribute largely to it as well. Oh, and also, read the above again but insert [The Lost World] into where it says Jurassic Park.
3. Jesus visiting anywhere because, as an agnostic, I believe he existed but am not sure whther he could perform true miracles, so it would give me the proof I need.
4. Once I got angry the day after Christmas and said that I'd throw out "All the rubbish presents you got me" to my parents. I've felt terrible about it since.
5. Hopefully, I'll end up in a nice house in suburbia with a wife, a few children and a nice car. As far as jobs go, I'd like to be a stage/ television actor as I love Drama and attention! I'd like to go to university as well.
6. Well, if I did end up as an actor, I'm a celebrity get me out of here seems appealing but other than that, Big Brother got terrible after series 1, but series 2-8 made me feel sick. And there aren't any others that I'd really like.

1.Well I wanted to travell to Scotland for a very long time, now I'm actually there, so from here the one place I'd most like to travell to is L.A, see if I can make it big with a script. ;)
2. I don't eat much choclate, I don't keep it around, but sometimes I go on a bender, generally with dark choclate, Club is my old faveroite, preferably with almonds.
3. For a long time now it has been Robert De Niro, although he hasn't done anything to inpress me for quite some time, his body of work through the 70's and 80's is enough to stand out over most actors entire carears. Some of my faveorite roles of his are Travis Bickle (Taxi Driver), Jake La Motta (Raging Bull), Rupert Pupkin (The King of Comedy), Lloyd Barker (Bloody Mama),Louis Cyphre (Angel Heart), Dwight Hansen (This Boy's Life), Al Capone (The Untouchables).
4. I was baptised Catholic, but I don't practice any religion currently.
5.I'm not really interested, I would if there was some money involed or I was to gain something from it, but I don't really care for the idea.

1. Is there anything from your childhood specificly that made you who you are today?
Not really. My mom being a mega bitch probably helped by giving me a mold that I didn't want to fit in to.
Favorite album?
I love Boogadaboogadaboogada! by the Screeching Weasels, Real Gone by Tom Waits, Sublime's 40 oz to Freedom. Live through This by Hole is probably my favorite though. (fuck all of you in advance)
3. what are five different ways you have broken the law, starting with the most serious?
I evaded a police officer once because I was driving my brother's friend home and he had a lot of coke on him and he was FUCKED up. What happened was I basically panicked and didn't know what to do, I turned my headlights off and sped up until I found a super dark driveway to turn in... the cops pulled up right beside me. I told my brothers friend to pretend to sleep and if he said ANYTHING I would kill him. So the two cops get out and ask me for my licence and registration, i didn't have either on me because I had kind of just got the car and well yeah I like to leave my license lying around in random places k? So I had to get out of the car, they asked me if I had been drinking I told them I hadn't really. Then I got the flashlight in the eyes test, after that they were like "so we were you trying to evade us? I was like "I didn't know you guys were behind me" "How could you not see us? we were following you since the light way back there" I was like "I really didn't know" Why did you turn your lights off and pull into this parking lot? "I didn't turn my light out, they went out and I was scared that my car was broken so I pulled in here to try and figure it out before I had a crash, not too good to drive with your lights out" Of course one of them turns on the lights with the switch, and I was like "Oh my god, I feel so dumb... I must of hit that button by accident."
I got away scott free with no warning, no ticket, nothing.
besides that it's the usual
4. If you could have any oppurtunity in your life right now , what would it be?
I'd like the opportunity to go to med school, I think I'd make a good doctor. I love the sight of blood, my hands are steady and ah who am I kidding, I can't touch fat people.
5. What's the best night that you have ever experienced that you remember, in full detail?
If I wasn't so tired... I bet I'm forgetting a night that was 2x better but I think I told the story about how I made this dead, bloody fetus in a bag at work and slapped it on this ultra pro-lifer van. That whole day was amazing, work was just fun because I was leaving and didn't give a fuck what the boss had to say about anything... and anyway that night we went to this big party at a friends and my boyfriend and I snuck out the back because it was PACKED inside up to sweaty proportions. We found this awesome bench and hedge out in the back yard totally isolated from the party, but we discovered there were already people that found it first but the night was perfect and it was so relaxing to just lie there and smoke. Anyway I was drunk, and there was hot tubbing. I'm easy to please, what can I say. I think it was more about the mood I was in, also my friend fell asleep on the bed and this super fat drunk guy flopped on top of her (not thinking someone was on the bed) The bed exploded, she was hurt, it was hilarious.
6, have you ever met up with anyone you first met on-line, and if so, what happend?
Nope. I had some internet scariness when I was younger and I keep internet away from real life.
I will think of some questions for someone now... ;)
