The upcoming Soul Calibur 4 (on PS3) is set to have Darth Vader, as not only a cameo, but a playable character among the other fighters.
Whether or not he's "locked" isn't yet known.
Here's the article from the AUS website http://au.playstation.com/news/darthcalibur.jhtml;jsessionid=INCXDDWL4TVGDS3YIXZC FEWLXBC5GIV0
XBOX and Nintendo supposedly reportedly have the extra characters of Yoda and "Storm Trooper" respectively in their versions...nothing I can confirm on those though.
Personally, I've been down with the Soul series since SB on the PS1...I remember seeing that game, thinking, ok...another streetfighter clone, then being completely taken aback at this slick-as-all-fuck title...got me hooked.
Having been a great dreamcast fan, of course I was able to see the transition into true 3d for the first "Calibur" title...once again, very impressed.
#2 was a pretty good follow up, more polished on the ps2 with some added modes, that was nice...While I don't think 3 really stood out too much, feeling more like an expansion for the second one...they were all quality games with pretty good replay value, and great PVP action. One of my favourite fighter series for sure.
I'm already looking foward to this one, seeing what the next gen can throw our way as (hopefully) another worthy installment in a thus far VERY solid series, all shiny and new, yet again.
Wondering what different missions/playmodes there'll be on top of the standard arcade mode.
I also kind've want to see how they tie the SW characters storylines into the game, and how the characters fight with special moves, grapples and swordplay...interesting, not sure how I'll find it but it's got me interested.
Add to that total character and weapon customisation, and I think this'll be a damn sweet title.
Anyways...anyone else gonna grab this one?
Thoughts?
