How about this one? It's one of the lesser known Lovecraft films. It even stars Jeffrey Combs AS Lovecraft.
I received this movie yesterday (ebay purchase). I have my final examination this Monday at college, so I'll probably watch it Monday or Tuesday (depends when I'll be back this Mondaynight due to the celebration of the end of this term). I'll give my thoughts then!

You've been getting alot of stuff off of Ebay lately D'lo. I hope you like it. There's three different stories, so you're bound to like one of them.
Did you ever watch Night Wars?

I bought a whole bunch of movies recently on Ebay. I payed 20 bucks for 14 movies (shipping included), so I thought 'why not?'. They're not all horrormovies though. The horrormovies include 'One Dark Night', 'Hellraiser 2', 'Body Bags', 'Necronomicon', 'April Fool's Day', 'Amytiville Horror - The Evil Escapes' & 'The Entity'. So I guess I have alot of movies to watch next week...
Haven't seen Night Wars yet. I bought it seperately from the above mentioned movies & I'll probably receive it on Wednesday or Thursday. I'll put my thoughts in the 'Night Wars' thread you started after I've seen it.

Yeah, thanks man. I don't think I'm gonna catch lots of sleep next week, but who cares when you've got all these movies to watch, right?

Is this the anthology with the Bruce Payne segment? If so, I didn't care for it much. Didn't the guy who did Brotherhood Of The Wolf (another movie I didn't like) direct one of the segments?

Yes to both questions. Wow, didn't like Brotherhood huh?

I don't know why I don't like Brotherhood; all my friends keep trying to convince me it's cool. I liked the look, but didn't really think the crazy martial arts third act connected well with the first two-thirds. Oh well.

I can see what you mean. I think I liked that part the best b/c at that point, they truly had every genre of film included in the movie.

I can see your point, and certainly don't begrudge anyone for liking it. It just didn't do it for me. Sorta like Kill Bill; I liked Kill Bill, but I didn't LIKE Kill Bill like I thought I would. I thought Tarantino was off track through most of the movie, but I have to hand it to him for trying his damndest!!!!! Did love the spaghetti Western music and the Navajo Joe reference, though. (damn, I love Navajo Joe!!!)
Too bad we don't live in the same area. I bet we could see a lot of movies together and get into a lot of friendly arguments. Most of my friends are indie fans (which is fine) but care little for exploitation.

I loved Kill Bill. Gotta agree, the music was good throughout.
See, I'm a fan of just about everything. Indie or exploitation, doesn't matter to me. I can watch anything. So I'm sure we'd be quite the pair of film geeks. Too bad indeed.
I bet your a big Burt Reynold's fan. Hehe.

I love Navajo Joe in SPITE of my huge hatred for Burt Reynolds.

Hahaha. I somehow knew you were going to say that.
I watched 'Necronomicon' last night. I thought it was pretty good, although the concept (4 stories, with one being a wraparound story to tie the other three together) is nothing new. It kinda reminded me of 'Tales from the Darkside - the movie' & 'House on Terror Tract'.
It starts with Jeffrey Combs as Lovecraft. It's always a good thing to see Combs in a movie, and here it's no exception. He was pretty good in the wraparound story.
Although I thought the first story was the weakest, Bruce Payne was still pretty good in this one.
The second story was the best, in my opinion. David Warner was great as the guy with 'the skin disease'. The characters were all really believble, which only addes to the story.
The last story was probably the goriest. The story itself may not have been all that original and it's also kinda predictable, but the gore & the effects make up for that. I thought the special effects were really good throughout the movie, especially for a movie with (I assume) not too big of a budget. In conclusion, I would recommend this movie to any horrorfan out there, which would probably be everybody reading this.

Hey D'Lo, did you happen to think that Combs looked alot like an older Bruce Campbell with his make-up on in this film?

He HAD to have. I'm just wondering if it was a nod to Campbell or did Lovecraft actually have a huge chin too?

I have no idea. It would be cool though if it really was a nod to Campbell.

Ok, so Dr. Herbert West is exhuming some corpses and he needs some supplies, so he goes to the local S-Mart and wonders into the Housewares section........
BTW, are you a LOA fan D'Lo?

Yes, I am. I have all their music and they're a great band. They write damn good music & lyrics. I think Caputo has one of the best voices in metal today. I saw them live a couple of months ago during their reunion tour, and they really kicked ass! So I assume you're a fan too?

Yeah, that song has some of the best lyrics I've ever heard. It's one of the only songs out there I really can relate too. I've said it before, but Caputo can write some fine music & damn good lyrics!
