Resident Evil: Extinction

Just bought it so i'm curious: Did anyone really like this one? I love it. I mean, as far as mindless slice em' up films go, this one's one of the best. Awesome action, an attempt (sorta) at plot, Milla Jovovich, awesome action.... Milla Jovovich... Oh, and Ali Larter. I thought that this one was easily the best of the 3. Thoughts?

I don't know if i'd say one of the best mindless films in any genre, I was speaking more horror/sci fi. Either way, it just entertains me. I think it's the best because it has the best action. The first honestly didn't have much at all. It was like a horror film that wanted to be an action film. The second had a good amount of action but it wasn't done all that well. This one just let loose, especially the dual machete parts.

I enjoyed the first alot.The second one was pure crap and third was to me just a little better than crap.

I'm a huge fan of the video games.

SO many people just completely panned this movie... Personally, my boyfriend dragged me to it and I wound up having a really good time... It's a FANTASTIC mindless slice 'em up... Done really well, decent action and DAMN does Milla look GOOD... I thought that the action scenes were really well done and the tension was created quite well. A more-than-decent serial.

I honestly do not have a frame of reference in regards to the trilogy, but my boyfriend actually agrees that this is the best of the three, so I really have no desire to see the other two at this point.

I enjoyed it. It was not bad. Extinction was lacking in the plot dept, but it is a video game movie so really that does tend to happen. I was really surpirsed that the first one did as well as it did, but I am also glad it did.

If the 4th is based on RE4, and Romero has some involvement in it, then I might be able to get behind a 4th movie. But RE films are "leave your brain at the door" films, (like anything Anderson directs) which is cool, but they still could have done more with adapting our beloved Resident Evil series.

The plot just went right out the door, and what happened to Jill Valentine and the little girl, Angela? They were such main characters in Apocalypse and there's no mention of them at all. Yeah, the action sequences were pretty well done and I did like the crows. But as for the other characters dying off, it was soooo predictable and it just made it boring.

I totally agree! What little plotline that the first two movies managed to pull together was completly ruined by this movie's emphasis on over the top battle scenes and a new director. To me, the movie seemed to consist of dual storylines which split the film into two incomplete parts. Many segments even seemed to be just tossed in as a tribute to the other films. (The mansion, the lasers, the hive references.) Didn't we see smart zombies in Land of the Dead? Even then they seemed played out. Alice's character seemed more like the Terminator than a sentient, revenge-minded super woman. Why was Carlos there but not Jill or Angela and don't get me started on L.T. and his date with Ashanti. Since I did like the first two movies, I hate to see the series end like this, with no hope of T-Virus regeneration in sight.

i am a huge fan of all the re video games and i loved all of the movies but in to me the first one was the worst cause it did not have a lot of stuff from the games but two & three are awesome (i loved the first one too i just liked the other two more)

i went to the website and had to see I missed that competition, there were some nice prices involved..i think the laser waffle cut as well :cool:
