Chestburster scene in the original Alien (only really shocking if you have no idea how the aliens reproduce or seen any of the subsequent movies).
Scene where Roger wakes up as a zombie in the original "Dawn of the Dead"
Alien experimentation parts of "Fire in the Sky"
When Jack Torrance looks in the mirror and realizes he is making out with a corpse and not a beautful woman in Kubrick's "The Shining".
these are just a few that come to mind.....

The last bit of Requiem For A Dream.
Thank god you said that. That movie is on tonight and I almost forgot. :D thankyou thankyou thankyou.
As for me, I'm going to go with the end of Audition and the razor wire scene in Suspiria. The Suspiria one isn't too gorey but the idea of it makes me sick to my stomach I was shaking for 5 minutes after it happened and am a little bit right now just from thinking it.
The Russian Roulette scene in "The Deer Hunter"
The "squeal like a pig" scene in "Deliverance"

I agree 100% on the needle pit. I could stomach just about anything else, SaW was a little much for me on that one scene, otherwise it was a great movie. I can deal with one or two needles but when you create a pit, screw that.

Blasphemy ! Do you not recognize Jean Claude ?? :p
For me, it has to be the self mutilation scene in the first segment of Family Portraits. It's the first time ever that I really wanted to look away. Actually, the whole film is pretty disturbing. A very hard watch.

The rape scene in Irreversible.
When that cannibal kind of rapes the woman with a stone in Cannibal Holocaust
But the worst ever was when that guy get his face smashed by a Fire Extinctor(sp?) in Irreversible. I've never seen something so realistic like that before.
"Faces of Death" wouldnt get to me, eventho there are real deaths, I would find it even funny sometimes, but on that scene on Irreversible, I had to turn my face away and close my eyes all the time, this never happened before lol. I "watched" that scene 3 or 4 times alredy but I could never fully really watch it. I always close my eyes...

- As already mentioned, the spiderwalk scene from Exorcist.
- The movie-long rape scene that is I Spit on Your Grave.
- Anal fisting scene in Caligula.
- The overall sense of "absolute power absolutely corrupts" that pervades Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma.

- As already mentioned, the spiderwalk scene from Exorcist. .
Wasn't this scene cut out of the original theatrical release? I think it was only in the re-released director's cut or whatever. I always thought this was an important scene b/c it added a new sense of horror b/c now she wasn't confined to that room only.
In the original is was just her laying in that bed the whole time, b/c the spider walk was cut out. With that scene included we realise that the evil is not confined to that room until she is strapped down.
