Explain my dream

This could be fun. Or it could blow, all depending on the dream and the explanation given.


So it goes like this.

Somebody post his/her/its recent weird, funny, scary, facinating etc. dream, and then other posters tries to analyze it. The explanation given can either be deadly serious or creative... or just plain goofy. It's totally up to the posters.



So here's mine.


I had a dream last night and as usual it was making no sense at all and was jumping back and forward in time and places and i'm sure the persons in it kept changing faces. they always do in my dreams.

It was about something as irrelevant as appartments. apparently my mom and stepdad had just moved to a new appartment in a nice neighbourhood further away from me than they were before. So i had to take the train to get to them.
(Well, this is all pretty boring. But wait, it gets even more boring)
At the station there was a big supermarket and for some reason i had to buy something for dinner on my way to visit my mom. So i got something, got to the counter, put my groceries on the table, then discover that my credit card wasn't where it used to be. So i quickly told the next customer to take my turn as i looked for my credit card. Of course i found it the second the other customer begun to put his groceries on the table, but i patiently (and a little bit annoyed) waited for him to finnish.
And HERE comes the tricky part, ladies and gentlemen. So far the entire dream has jumped back and forth in time and places, but as i stand next to this customer the time suddenly goes normal. Like REALLY normal and slow (Like it normally does when u stand in line in a grocery shop). And i just watch this dude putting one grocery after another up on the desk for about 5 minutes... Then it gets my turn and THEN the time starts to jump again.

What the hell was so important about this counter episode that i had to dream this through??

I think you are bored and frustrated with your life, and it is passing you buy and you are not taking enough oppurtunitys. Wait , that sounds like my life... Why haven't I had that dream?

And the reason I think that is.....

The time, going slow while you are doing nothing, then when you are doing something the time dissapears, meaning the time when you are doing things is not long enough.

The Parental thing is just a distraction.

Naaa, i may not visit them as much as i probably should, but i have a good relationship with them both. And they do live close to me. Besides, they weren't much in the dream. It was more about the appartment and the neighborhood and me thinking "wauw, what a great place to live", even though i live in quite a fine neighbourhood myself.

I was sitting in my living room, watching television, when a small leprechaun (from a popular television show) snatched the remote off me and changed the channel. I said, "That's not very nice." and suddenly, a tall, thin, cartoony woman with long dark hair and a long black dress (Like mortitia addams) comes in, slaps me then grabs my wrist.
She starts leading me away and I scream through the door to my dads study but he just says "I'm busy, stop messing about!" Next thing I know, I'm infront of a green curtain which I pull open and there's an attic through there, but not mine. In the middle, all sitting around a table are my mum, my sister, my half sister and my half brother, playing monopoly. They turn and my brother says "Lets help him!". The curtain closes and I wake up.

And uncomfortable, and alienating. Your credit card isn't where it used to be. Time speeds up and slows down. You see? This is no ordinary grocery store--this is the one in their new neighborhood which you found when you got off the train.

I would say that your mind was turning over some feelings of uncomfortability about your folks, and the "new neighborhood" is a symbol of some emotional distancing taking place which you have started to feel.

Again, it's not necessarily something that's actually happening in your life, but your mind is considering the idea of it, for some reason.

But basically your dream is about how much your entire family hates your guts and couldn't care less if some stranger takes you away. And deep inside you've always known that.
And the small leprechaun is actually alive and lives under your bed. The cartoony woman is in fact your very own mother who's sick and tired of you watching too much tv and most of all horror movies. She's not real tho, she's from a popular tv show.....

Yes, i see and understand what you're saying. I just can't relate to your analysis. Sure i'm worried about stuff in real life and i've never liked difficult new situations. I had a dream that this girl from my Geometry class and I were sitting on the roof of my friend's house throwing snowballs at cars when we hit an 18-wheeler, it swerved and started charging toward the house, then I woke up.

I had another one where I went to school and I was sitting across from that same girl, I looked up and she turned Asian, then all of my friends started turning Asian.

I don't know what they mean.

Desire to break the rules, cause mischief, manifested in throwing snowballs at the truck (notice it's a TRUCK, not a car - it's the desire to have an impact on BIG THINGS, perhaps a desire for POWER).

And then...

The swerving I'd imagine is the FEAR of CONSEQUENCE... Sure, throwing snowballs in some way exerts power in a victimless and seemingly harmless action, BUT in the dream there are dire consequences of your action - The truck swerving toward you.

SO, I say desire for power but fear of the consequence thereof.

OK - The last dream I remember...
NOTE: My dreams are pretty fucked up.


I think this dream was from Saturday night...

I remember bits and pieces of it. The earliest I remember I was in this concrete room (not really a basement, per say, but at least an abandoned building). I was there with this other girl (let's refer to her as girl #1) who was trying to convince me to kill another girl (let's refer to her as girl #2). Now, both of these girls were anonymous in my dream - Neither of them I knew or know in real life.

Girl #1 had tied Girl #2 to a matressless bedframe and secured the girl's hands and feet spread across the frame with duct tape. I helped her tape Girl #2's ankles to the bed frame. Girl #1 then tried to convince me that I could assist her murder Girl #2 in cold blood and that there would be absolutely no consequence at all. At that, I began to actually get interested in this murderous plan (not sexually, you perverts), and sawed Girl #2's hand off with a hacksaw.

... That's all I can remember from that scene.

Next scene:
I'm in the ocean and I am drowning a third girl (let's call her Girl #3) in the ocean. We're in relatively shallow waters, but I'm not letter her swim to shore. I keep pushing her head under.

...

Next scene:
I'm being informed by Girl #1 that we had gotten caught somehow. Suddenly my head is absolutely heated with guilt, worrying how I could possibly tell my parents that I had assisted in killing 5 (yes, at this point in the dream, the deathcount had somehow turned into 5) girls.

The rest of the dream I'm scrambling around with another Girl (Girl # 4 at this point I guess), who apparently had assisted us with the murders, and we were trying to figure out our testimony for the impending trial and how we could blame the ENTIRE mass-murder on Girl #1.

And I felt so, SO incredibly guilty - Not for murdering the girls, mind you. But for
getting caught, and having my family find out (THIS is why I am concerned about being a possible sociopath.

And I was left with this terrible mantra, "I don't want to go to jail... I don't want to go to jail..."

...

And then I woke up and quite pleased that I was NOT facing mass-murder charges.

I have "flying" dreams once in a while......not so much flying [ not like Superman anyway] more of floating. Its pretty cool....I always remember the feeling of fly/floating when I wake up.

Do you lucid dream? Flying and floating is even cooler if you can lucid dream... I've never been able to control my dreams myself... I wonder if I did, the nightmares would be more manageable (literally).

I'm never able to get myself into the same dream... I've even attempted to do so even the following night. The last one I remember...

I have this recurring dream where I'm in my mother's house and there's this secret passage way. I've used in different occasions where I'm hiding from either zombies or from siege groups manned with guns...

Most recently, I had convinced one of my attackers that I wasn't the person he was after and convinced him to go after someone else, using my name (whatever it was in the dream). I snuck into the secret passageway, which lead outside through a series of tunnels and ended in what appeared to be an open grave. I laid in the open grave, when he appeared over me with his gun. But he didn't actually want to kill me, though. He laughed. It was a joke.

And I woke up.

But what was he laughing about??? Haven't been able to get back there since...

I've had dreams, forgot them then carried on from them weeks, even months later and remember loads of stuff from the previous one. Also, 25% of the time, I work out it's a dream and do anything, anything, I want. The amount of times I've punched my teachers and ran through town naked...

ok, I've got a one that just seems to keep coming back, I've had this one for as long as I can remember, but I think that they started about the time I started school. They never the same dream, but the theme is always the same.

Ok... They always start out with me somehow finding out that I can fly, or float, or something, and I'm happier than a pig in shit. I start out low, more just hovering and showing off, then go a bit higher, probably about 10 feet in the air. And up until now, the dream is happy. But then at some point in the dream I always lose control of it, and end up above the trees, sometimes I can grab onto the top of a tree and try to hold on, but I always end up being very very high above the ground, to where houses look like the little Monopoly houses. during this time I freak out, because I can't stop gaining altitude. Then all of a sudden I gain control again(not always but sometimes), if at least for a moment, before I suddenly plummet to the ground. The most recent one I ended up in a pool, but before that I always end up just thumping on the ground unhurt.
I'm not really bothered by the dream, I'm just wondering what the fuck it means.

Ahhhh... Fear of complete loss of control.

You're a control freak and you fear being helpless and unable to control your environment.

Luckily, the fear isn't fatal or all that serious - Hence why you landed in the pool unhurt.

ANYWAY, as I was saying....;) when I was sixteen I had a dream that I was a little blind girl (it wasn't me, but I had the feeling it was me, like I was outside of myself, watching myself.....and does that make any sense at all?) walking, stumbling along the side of the road. A man picks her up, no one I know, they ride for awhile, but he finally stops in front of an old, abandoned house. They never go inside. She pulls out a knife and slits his throat. I wake up. I have no way of coveying to you all how much this dream freaked me out. Well, I still remember it, so I guess that says something.

Last night I had quite possibly the most horrifying nightmare that I have ever endured in my life.

I was in a cabin in Maine (no, no one I know actually owns a cabin in Maine, but it is very Stephen King, eh?), in a small town.

Suddenly I was warned by one of the "locals" that every year (coincidentally AT THAT TIME), the town is plagued and haunted by... THINGS.

So, accordingly, a brief period of time was spent boarding up the log cabin... and then... waiting.

The rest of the dream was spent defending myself and the few people in the cabin from HORRIBLE MUTANTS (yes, it's Stephen King write The Hills Have Eyes apparently). I tried to defend myself with a piece of wood, but it didn't have much affect.
