So, what is the difference -- without giving any spoilers -- between the "Original Uncut" & "Original Unrated Cut" editions of this film? I need this answered ASAP!

Unrated... is better.

Um, that tells me nothing because it does not answer my question...!

Get unrated....

Can someone with some real knowledge, and who knows how to read, please answer my question; as this guy/girl is useless in that regard?!

the "Original Uncut" is the cut of the film that played in the UK, not the US cut (which is slightly shorter), but it is still rated.

The "unrated" is the same, with more blood. As Posher said - get the unrated. It's sort of an easy film rule, regardless of genre. When an Unrated version is offered, choose it over anything that had to pass a ratings board.

But, 'unrated' still has to pass a film classifications board...at least here in Canada which I find stupid; for example here in Nova Scotia where I am currently living 'unrated' gets classified 18.

Hey mlauzon, don't be a jerk to Posher. The guy is only trying to help your sorry ass out, even though you don't seem to deserve it very much.

Be a jerk to me instead. I don't mind.

Oh yes, and about the movie. Sorry can't help ya.

Take care now, bye bye

I'm not useless. I just bluntly told you the best one to go with.

Someone didn't get breast fed as a baby, maybe you should go and look up all his/her posts...all one liners; all completely useless!

you're a little new here to be picking fights

and unrated means just that - it hasn't been rated. That's why it's tagged with an 18, because it won't submit for a lower classification.

Well, i guess i feel sorry for your cruel past.

And i don't have a single problem with poshers posts. I'm pretty sure i'm much worse anyway.

At least he's contributing to this site almost every day, that be for good and for worse.

What have YOU done since 10-19-2004? 10 posts before making this shitty thread and start off assulting the first person who's trying to help you.

tsk, tsk, tsk

Dude, call your mom and ask her to pop her titty back in your mouth.

I was looking at his/her post count, instead of his/her join date - my bad

less than 20 posts still ranks as n00b in my book

I am hardly new, I just never really post...was on this site well before 2004 when I finally decided to make an account.

I think that's a manner of opinion. And did you look up all 7500+ posts? That's pretty fast of you.

I thought the Original Uncut and Original Unrated Cut was the exact same... Maple does the distribution for Lionsgate in Canada. So in the US, Lionsgate released the Original Unrated Cut, while in Canada Maple released the Original Uncut. They were both the same, the wording on the packaging just differed.

I for one have never seen the Original Unrated Cut, nor even the theatrical cut, DVD here in Canada. I have only ever found Original Uncut, which always comes packaged with a second disc.

I did see the movie in a "festival theatre" -- so called, because they usually carry the festival movies -- when I lived in Calgary, unfortunately I fell asleep watching it, not because I was bored, my insomnia catches up with me at the weirdest times.

Check out IMDb's page of DVD details:

http://imdb.com/title/tt0435625/dvd

Of course, all of the DVDs point to Amazon.com...

I currently have the one that says "Original Uncut" on the box, but it only has one DVD...not two. So, is there a difference between the "Original Uncut" & "Original Unrated Cut"...possibly?!

Mine has 2-discs, the second being a special feature called "The Fine, Fearless and Feisty." Never watched it, but it's there.

The only two that seem to have 2 discs are as follows:

The Descent - Abgrund des Grauens (Deluxe Edition, 2 DVDs; 2006) (http://imdb.com/ra/de/a/B000FFJT8Y)

The Descent (2 Disc Special Edition; 2005) (http://imdb.com/ra/uk/a/B000A8NZ0O)

Well, I'm not lying to you. Mine is the typical "Original Uncut", with the red and black cover depicting the female lead bursting out of a pool of blood. It was released by Maple, who distributes Lionsgate releases in Canada. It has the original first disc, and an additional second disc in a disc tray (one of those trays which snaps on to the spine...)

I never said you were lying, I was just pointing out something. For me to call you -- or anyone -- a liar, you or they would have to be standing right in front of me.

I found the original unrated cut at a discount store nearby. It's only one disc. As for Mlauzon, as long as you get the uncut version you're fine. It has a much better ending.
EDIT: looks like it was distributed by Linsgate and not Maple so it must be from the States some how.

Yeah, that happens sometimes. My House of 1000 Corpses DVD is released by Lionsgate, and comes in special packaging (it's a foldout constructed with glossy cardboard.) The Maple versions are simply in regular cases.
